☆a new start☆

It's 1998, and a family of 4 was driving on a highway to their new house. The car was a brown dodge Caravan and it was going on a normal speed on the highway. "And kids, are u exited", the father said who was driving the car. The mother sat in the passengers seat in the front and the kids where doing their own thing in the backseats. The mother had a magazine of new fashion lines and was reading it with her reading glasses. The daughter of 14 who was sitting behind the mother was listening to creep by radiohead on her walkman, whenever the song ends she would instert the cassette tape again to repeat her song. The daughters name was mirela. Next to mirela sat her little brother june. He was 12 years old and he was way to focused with staring out of the window. Fascinated he watched everything the car passed in the trip. Rocks, horses and road signs. Everything was amazing in his eyes. Mirela rolled her eyes as her song stopped once again. "Daaaaad, how long do we have to sit down for?". She sounded annoyed while asking. The father looked at the map once again and responded: " Just a few more minutes my little mirela, go listen to ur music again and we should be there in a second". Mirela sighed at her fathers response and replayed her song again. The car trip took just 5 more minutes until they arrived at their destination.

"And here we are". The mother stepped out off the car and looked proudly at a house. " Well kids, what do you think?" The father said. The back door of the car opened and mirela stepped out of the car. She looked at the house for a little and then waited for her brother to also get out of the car. Her little brother also opened the cardoor and stepped out of the car while holding his backpack close to his chest. He looked at the house and had a amazed face. His sister didn't had the same opinion."June, do u really think it's that great?" She said to her brother. June looked back at his sister and said:" But mirela, the house is so big". Mirela looked away with a bummed face and grabbed her bag from the back of the car. She looked at her parents and waited for them to open the door of their new house. The parents looked in excitement while entering their new home. mirela wasn't that exited. "JUNE, hurry or else I'm taking the best room as my bedroom". Mirela said, June had to run a little to meet her in the hallway. Mirela grabbed June's hand and they went walking upstairs. There where many rooms since they moved into a big house. Mirela looked at June and pointed at a room." Are u taking this one or am I?". June threw his backpack into the room to mark his new Territory. Mirela laughed a little and went to the room next to June's. She placed her bag there and then went downstairs. Mirelas mother looked at her and asked if she wanted to call her brother downstairs. Mirela raised her voice so June could hear her from all the way downstairs. June came running downstairs and Almost tripped. Mirela sighed and helped him get his balance back up. "Cmon, mom needs us". Mirela grabbed his hand and they walked to their mother. The mom looked at her two kids and had a nervous facial expression. " So kids, father was calling with the people who are driving the truck with our stuff and uh. They will be here for next week. The truck with our stuff took the wrong direction and isn't exactly going our way right now. " Mirela look surprised in a annoyed way."so what are we supposed to do until then?" She said. June just nodded in agreement to mirela. The mom looked around the room a little while she felt bad for her kids."perhaps u have to find a way u kids can entertain urselfs, maybe see if the house has any secret Hideouts? If u kids find one then dad could make a nice room from it for u two". The mom really tried to lift up the mood but mirela didn't seem pleased. June started to pull his sisters hand."u heard mom, cmon let's explore!". June looked very excited and mirela gave a little smile because there might be something hidden in this big house with all its walls. The kids started in the living room. June carefully pushing his hands against the tiles while mirela was checking out the floor. Mirela layed down on the floor and knocked on it. She looked disappointed at it and then she looked at June if he found anything. June shook his head as no. The siblings moved on to the first floor.

Mirela looked around a little."hey June, is there anything in ur room?".june popped his head out of the room and responded with a sad no. Mirela sighed and went checking more walls for any hidden secrets. June walked to mirela and tapped her on her shoulder. He looked a little bummed."hey sis, I'm getting tired of all this searching. Can we prepare for bed?". Mirela also looked a little bummed & tired. She nodded and grabbed junes hand so they can wish their parents a goodnight. "Goodnight mom, goodnight dad". The kids said and they left to go upstairs again. She looked at her bed and dragged June to her room. " Hey June, would u mind helping me with....uknow?" She looked akward while asking but June nodded as a yes. Mirela pulled up her left pants sleeve and it reveals a prosthetic leg. June helped mirela to remove the prosthetic and then made sure she didn't loose her balance."ty" She said while June hugged her and left. Mirela watched as June entered his room and he dived into his bed. Mirela sighed and looked at the ceiling." Guess this is how we will spend our first week of the new house, just searching walls for nothing". She muttered to herself as she closed her eyes.

"Mirela"

A whispering voice whispered her name into her ear.

"Mirela wake up"

Mirela slowly opened her eyes and saw that June was sitting next to her. "June it's midnight, what do u need?". June shoved his finger against her lips to hush her. He looked around a little. " Mirela, do u hear it?". Mirela got up a little and looked very tired. "Look June if there's something wrong then go to mom". June pointed at the attic. " Don't u hear the music? ". Mirela rubbed her eyes and tried listening for music. It was silent for a few seconds until she also started to hear something from the attic. " June, what kind of music is that?". June shrugs because he was just as confused as she was. The siblings looked at eachother and decided to go to the attic. "Be quite June, mom is sleeping". June nodded and they both carefully made their way up to the attic.

" Ew the attic is dusty ". Mirela coughed while saying that. June pushed away some stuff to find out where the happy melody was coming from. " It's here but where??" He said while he kept looking. Mirela called June over and pointed at a wall."hey, that wooden board is glowing ". The siblings looked at eachother and decided to carefully remove the board in silence, because they didn't wanted to wake up their mother. The kids looked in amazement when they saw something glowing. " Well, what is it? " Mirela asked. June looks at her and says:" Ur older, u grab it". Mirela sighed and carefully reached her hand to the glowing area. She felt something and grabbed it. "Its it's it's.... A book-". Mirela showed the book to june and looked a little disappointed. June wiped off the dust off the book and read out it's name.

On the cover there where 2 girls on a train that was riding in a colorful galaxy. June kept looking at the book and mirela also kept looking at it. "So our adventure lead to a book?". She sounded very disappointed. After a second She shrugs," At least the music stopped". June yawned. "Maybe we can read it tomorrow? Because mom & dad need to work tomorrow". Mirela nodded and grabbed the book from June his hands. She guided her little brother to her room and hugged him a goodnight. She walked to her own room and placed the book on her nightstand. " U better be special, because I need to waste this week without my games". She sighed and closed her eyes to go to sleep
