"Oh come on Ruth, hockey isn't that bad." Maddie says, for the past fifteen teen her and Atlas have made an attempt to get me to go to the hockey game. For the past fifteen minutes I've managed to keep my mouth shout about already going, mainly because the reason I'm going is Brooks. "You have to come Ruth, you'll get to see how amazing I am." Atlas joins the pleading once again.

"I've already seen how good you are."

"So don't you want to see a again?"Atlas asks. That's it. I'm telling them. "I'm already going."

"What. Since when we're you interested in hockey?" Atlas questions.

"Since Brooks played hockey." Maddie answers for me, she's got a smirk on her face and I'm glad my pain amuses her.

"I still can't believe you actually like him." Atlas says. I can however, he's much better then any of the boys at school, he's funny, kind, caring. "Hello ladies, gentleman." Seth says joying us, along with Beckham and Mason. Beckham sits as far away as possible and I don't blame him, everyone begins talking and laughing but us. "Right I get the yous two didn't get of to the best start, but please get along." Atlas says.

"Well I'm not the one who started it, am I?" Beckham responds, I keep quiet. I don't want another argument, especially with what came out last time. "Well Mr.Matthews your going to have too. You're both obviously are of too the hockey match, and when we destroy Westwood. I take it your both going to the party after too." Atlas says.

"Like Ruth's going to the game." Beckham scoffs.

"She is actually!" Maddie says.

"Only because you are forcing her too!" Beckham fights back.

"What, would you prefer if I didn't force her? But you get to yourself, because if you want that be my guest!" Maddie fires. I can feel my cheeks burning up, Maddie and Beckham continue with the argument despite my discomfort. "What! No way. Why would I want to do that?"

"I don't know. Your Beckham Matthews after all, you do spontaneous shit all the time! But this I bet you wouldn't dare do." Is Maddie trying to make him ask me? Or get the truth out of me?

"Is that so? Ruth you are of to the hockey game with me." Beckham retaliates.

"I'm okay thanks." I finally speak for myself.

"Wasn't a question Ruth."

"Well that's too bad then. Because I'm already of with someone." I fight back.

"Not my problem."

"Well it certainly is. Saying that the girl you want to come to your game, is already going for your twin brother!" Shit. I've really go to get better at not blurting stuff out.

"Even better reason for me to take you," how the hell has he managed to make it good for him? "I get to prove Maddie wrong, and make my brother jealous."

"It won't be happening. Especially if you just see me as some move to mess with people!"

"Alright then. Would you, Ruth Astor, like to come to the hockey game to support me and not the rival's captain?" Beckham partly questions.

"No I would not." I decline once again.

"And that's why I didn't ask the first time."

"God, yous two are impossible!" Seth breaks the argument.

"What about a bet?" Mason suggests. Mason's going to be dead in a minute if he doesn't shut up. I hate bets I always loose them. "If Huxley win, you have to say you went because of Beckham. Westwood win you went because of an absolute asshole."

"Well that's not fair because I would I have to go with Beckham either way." I retaliate.

"I'll take that." Beckham agrees, "I don't know if Ruth will though, she's chicken. Plus she wouldn't want to hurt her little boyfriend's feelings." I know what he's trying to do. If I rejected it, it would look like I did have feelings for Brooks, which I must admit I kinda do. But if I agree Beckham would have won. "Fine. But last time I checked it's big brother to you."
Beckham scoffs and smirks at my comment.

The bell goes and before I can escape, Beckham opens his mouth, "see you tomorrow, love." This mother fucker.

We've been sat in silence eating for the past ten minutes and I can't bare it anymore, the tension is growing throughout the three of us and if I don't stop it an argument will break out. "Hey dad we aren't doing anything on Friday are we?" I ask my dad, he takes his attention of eating and looks at me. "No I don't think so why?" He replies.

"I'm going to watch a hockey game after school, that's all."

"That's all? So are you going to this for a boy or what?" Dylan's mini interrogation begins. I wish he wasn't so protective and would just leave me alone.

"Dylan leave your sister alone, she's completely
capable of taking care of herself." My dad defends me. "You wouldn't know, you've never taking care of us." Dylan argues. He shouldn't of done. It will only rile up my father. "I'm so sorry. But I wasn't the one that left us when times got bad, that didn't run of to a richer man, that didn't want a better family. I'm sorry I'm not your mother." My father replies. Maybe I shouldn't have spoken at all. A problem always begins when I begin to speak. Maybe I shouldn't speak at all.

A/n- sorry it's so late. Thank you so much for the support 🤍. Who do you want Ruth to end up with Beckham or Brooks?
