The whole dorm was echoing Hoseok's impossible-to-handle laugh. Jimin is reading the article earnestly. While Taehyung and Jungkook was showing a completely contrasting reaction. Taehyung is giggling into a cushion while Jungkook looked like he's about to murder someone.
"Taehyung always had it easy when it comes to me. Amongst every friends I have, he's the one that gets me laughing out loud on the floor in record time. There's nothing quite like the relationship we share. If you ask me where my inspirations for the characters I created in my novels, I would say, easily, Kim Taehyung. He is the immediate sunshine in the darkest room and he's just...no words to describe. A completely lovable bunny." Jimin smiles, as the embodiment of the author possessed his soul.
"This came from himself. Jungkook."
Earlier, last week. Your apartment.
Jungkook is hammering the IKEA table together. It's a bedside table, with screws and nuts. He has been consistently switching his gaze from the manual and table, thousand of times. It's been three hours. "Am I doing it right?" He spoke to himself, the millionth time. Your patience is growing thin. "Jungkook enough." You scolded him. "Can't you give up already? It's been more than three hours." You slid further down your office chair, watching his pitiful back.
"Have I ever been bad at anything?" he pauses, pointing the hammer to the side, and answered his own question, "No."
"Have I ever give up in the middle of doing something? Also no." He added. "Am I going to give on this chair after the faith it has gave me? You know the answer to that. Don't talk to me." He kept his wide open at the manual, zooming in, burying his entire face in it.
You rolled your eyes at his back, gloomily looking out the window. Maybe it could give you an inspiration. "The weather is annoyingly nice when I decided to stay indoors." You huffed. Jungkook kicks away the manuals, groaning and lay flat on his back, "I will never buy anything from IKEA ever again." Putting his forearm on his forehead, sighing loudly. "You barely screw in two out of two legs of that table, your percentage of progress is no more than 50%." You snorted at him. Making fun of his hardwork. He clenched his jaws, and shut his eyes, frowning. Creases forming between his brows as he said, "You want to talk about progress. How's yours going?" He spat.
"You can't write more than a sentence, can you." He predicted and you hated how true it was. "That's because you've been constantly hammering nails on a table that needs screws." You sprung up in your chair, angrily. Then your eyes drifted to the blank screen with blinking cursor. It got you annoyed and so you were back, slouched in your chair, making crying sounds. "...Losers always makes excuse." Jungkook grinned, thinking he had the perfect clapback. "Like how you said you will never buy anything from IKEA because you can't read Swedish?" You jutted your chin out, arrogantly.
A brief silence went by and the peace was interrupted by your sudden convulsing motion, resulting from extreme annoyance due to that one thing all writers have, writer block. It's when you really wanted to write something that would intrigue your readers into wanting more, but couldn't seem to find the words that would convey that. Let alone a plot. It's like a constipation. A horrid experience, a numbing season. "I could write how much I hate that new burger we got from Wendy's but I can't write a shit about feelings." You bit your lips. You want to kick away that blank screen and start writing, but you don't know what to write about. Jungkook spring up to his butt and spun to face you who was sitting on your desk.
"Write about that." He stormed. "Write about something you hate. Or someone."
You scowled at him. "That's boring."
Jungkook blinks at the manual, then at the table. "Oh, the screws goes there." He suddenly say and you were confused at the sudden change of topic. He was helping you find inspiration at one minute, and then go back into reconstructing the table, the next. What a rollercoaster. "I want to write about love. Friendship, and uncertainty, those stuff." Jungkook's hands now moves faster as he found out what he was missing. He starts to twist the screw at the places, like the manuals mentioned and kick away the hammer. "...Then write about someone you will never date."
Lightbulbs flickers in your head.
"There's a lot." You answered, feeling like it's a hopeless piece. "Amongst the boys. Our boys." He said. Jungkook's focus goes directly into the table he was assembling. Boy, he does do well at anything. "...Like Taehyung." He mentions. You snorted, "I would totally date Taehyung, are you kidding me, he looks like he's a walking adventure. And he takes great pictures too." Jungkook flickered his eyes at you briefly. You didn't even notice. "What about Namjoon-hyung?" He asked, twisting the screwdriver expertly, like he's been doing this for a living.
"He's very reliable. Dependable. Sweet and detailed. I say, date." You beamed. The topic of choice is giving you reasons to smile. You never know why you've never thought of this. "I can see why you'd like Namjoon-hyung. There's nothing he can't do." Jungkook admits and acknowledged your opinions on Namjoon. With Namjoon's dimply smile, nothing could go wrong. Until he makes his way into the kitchen. Where he breaks everything and set them on fire. But still, Namjoon is dateable.
Jungkook then mentioned Yoongi. The hardworking sloth. He is a deep sleeper or no-sleep at all kind of guy. No in betweens. Yoongi remains to be the only friend you'd find comfort in when he's around. He says the first thing on his mind, and pays excellent detail. He is also a good listener. "Yoongi probably won't be much of a romantic guy, but I'm positive that if I linger long enough, I could dig that part of him from the dungeon inside him." You crossed your arms and let your imaginations wonder. "...Yoongi-hyung is very attentive. Acknowledged." Jungkook pauses, "So, yes for Brother Yoongi?"
"100%." You beamed.
What about Hoseok?
"Oh he is so bright. He is the mood maker. The always laughing, and I always get surprised when he does that loud laughs. It scares me and bursts my eardrums. I tend to get depressed so, Hoseok will be good for me." You tilted your head to one side. "...Strong 75% would date Hoseok. Those dance moves doesn't go unnoticed." You bit your lips, what that body rolls could do to you. *clears throat*
Jungkook is on to the third peg, screwing it in. This is going smoother than he originally thought. "That leaves us to, Jimin, Seokjin and me. So far it has been dateable, right?" Jungkook pretended to be focusing on the table when he actually is studying your face. "I would never date you." You blurted and started typing. Jungkook literally let go of the screwdriver from his hand and let it dropped to the floor. Clearly, he wanted explanations. "...Seokjin cooks. Loves pink and has sturdy shoulders." You listed, and then towards Jimin, "...The sweetest cinnamon bun, with a golden heart and angelic laugh." You blinked to your screen.
Jungkook stood up, leaving the three-legged table on its own. "...Are you writing about me now?" He sounded angry. "...You know where the door is. I have to submit this thing by tomorrow." You said, monotonously.

Written in the magazine,
Jeon Jungkook, born in 1997, from Busan. You must have been literally surprised to why I've chosen you, but could I be wrong? All in all, the times that we've spent together didn't make me want to date you, so therefore, Jungkook is my undateable. He has confidence I can't find in myself. The way he carry himself so swiftly and when his fear is barely seen, he is the embodiment of the things I will never be. His words are often sharp, and it scarred me most of the time. I always wrote him as a villain because I know that's what he is to me. He seems insensitive and often, hid his own emotion until the other bares it all.
Jungkook pays no redemption to the emotions you invested. Wait, that was me being cruel. Jungkook will never say the words I wanted to hear. Jungkook will never do the things I tell him to. Jungkook, although you may seem heartless and emotionally unattached, I pay extra attentions to your little gestures. Jungkook will never admit the free morning coffee is mine. Jungkook will never say a word about taking out my trash. Jungkook will never out loud how he dimmed the light of my office to let me sleep in peace. Jungkook will also never realize how I noticed all this.
And then I realise, the reason why I chose him as my undateable is because Jeon Jungkook, you are already dating me. Without even realizing what you're doing.
Sorry, Tae.
"Who'd knew." Namjoon shrugged.
"Plot twist!" Jimin screaming in Taehyung's ear.
And the boys never let Jungkook lived.
