A normal day

It was a normal rainy morning in the small town of Mugland. Chilly breezes filled the streets as the sun started rising.

It was 6am but Achi was already up, on the balcony sipping coffee. His roommate Giorgi was still sleeping soundly, not even a bomb could wake him up.

The reason Achi was awake is weird, but explanatory. That day was the day people in his company got partnered up. You see, he feared being Saba's partner. His worst enemy, soon to be seen at work.

Saba was a serious, muscular guy with a bright smile that people rarely saw. Achi feared him for some reason, maybe because he never talked to him or because of all the rumors about Saba.

Achi went inside to take a shower. Random thoughts filling his head. Although he feared getting partnered up with Saba, who knows, maybe he kind of wished for it.

He got out of the shower and sighed, looking at his careless roommate who had no idea about what Achi was feeling.

"8am already." Said Achi while looking at his watch. He got dressed and headed to work, this time on foot, he had a lot to get off his mind.

Achi arrived at work and greeted his boss - Lela. She was a strict, but bubbly lady. Not the kind of boss you would hate.

"When do we get assigned to our partners?"- He asked looking worried. "In about an hour" - said Lela and walked away as she was busy preparing some documents.

Achi went into his office, seeing his coworker Sopho seated in his chair waiting for him.

"Hi, you're early today." - said Achi. "Why wouldn't I be, I'm here for the drama." -Sopho answered laughing. "What's the drama?" - Achi was confused" "Oh you didn't hear? You're being paired up with Saba!" - said Sopho excitedly. "No way."

Achi's life flashed before his eyes, this couldn't be true. He sat down silently in his armchair, overthinking what he would do.

"Oh speak of the devil!" - Sopho exclaimed. Saba walked into the building. He tossed his cigarette in the trash can and continued walking, calmly, there wasn't a single thing in this world that could worry him.

It was 9am. The meeting was starting. Lela started pairing up people. "Let's see... Sopho you'll be paired up with Mary....Nana will be paired up with giorgi and Achi will be paired up with Saba. I think that's all for this department, I'll see you tomorrow, if you have any questions come see me, I'll be in my office."

People started walking out of the conference room, chatting.

Saba and Achi walked into the elevator. Awkward silence was surrounding them. "Sooo how do we start this?" - asked Achi breaking the silence.

"Well, I think you should get the theory down and I'll make the ppt." -said Saba carelessly like it wasn't a big deal. "Okay." - said Achi and sighed not knowing how to work things out with the man standing next to him.

After another long awkward silence Saba asked "do you want a cigarette? I'm going out for a smoke." "Well I don't smoke but I'll try." - said Achi, he'd do anything to get along with his now partner.

They went to the rooftop, it was still raining heavily, but it didn't bother either of them as rain was their favorite weather.

Saba lit his cigarette and started smoking. Achi didn't know what to do so he tried lighting it. "No that's not how you do it, let me help you." - said Saba noticing his partner's struggle. "Put it in your mouth, I'll light it for you." - he said, gently smiling. He found Achi cute when he was confused.

Achi started smoking, but it just wasn't for him. His lungs felt like they were burning and he started coughing. "Okay I think that's enough for you, don't try to smoke again you're not even good at it." Saba said laughing. "Here, have my jacket, you seem cold." - he said while looking at his shivering partner.

"I think we should get into the building" - Achi suggested.
