"Falling in love should be like polaroids: instant."

Lorenzo

It was only 6 in the morning and Lorenzo was already up.

Sitting propped up on his side of the bed Lorenzo watched his beautiful wife Kamari as she slept soundly. The milk and honey seemed to ease her into a sound sleep. Well that and some nightly exercise at least. He knew that she had a nightmare about the past and was angry he could do nothing to ease her pain.

He was the most powerful man in the world being the head of the Italian Mafia yet he couldn't do one thing to soothe her. When they met each other's families, he thought he could get information out of one of her siblings or relatives but everyone was tipped lipped. Whenever a question was asked about their hometown they all seemed to shut down then change the subject entirely.

What were they hiding? Why were they hiding it – even from him?

Sure they just met him but this was his wife. The possessive part of him rationalized that anything pertaining to his wife had everything to do with him. Past, present or future.

Glancing at the clock he noticed he had a bit of time before they had to get ready for her friend's baby shower. Pecking Kamari on her lips Lorenzo grabbed his phone from the nightstand then got out of bed heading to his office on the first floor of the house. Once there he began to work on some paperwork and looking over documents regarding the Familia.

Lately there's been a lot of discrepancies in some of the finances yet all their shipments are accounted for. Marco and Leo check in the shipments themselves and keep detailed reports on everything whether little or small. They were a little OCD about it but he knew he could trust them.

Though he ran the Italian Familia, Lorenzo's family never dealt with hardcore stuff like prostitution, drugs or human trafficking. No his family dealt in weapons, intelligence and making people.... disappear to put it lightly.

A knock sounded on the door and he told the person on the other end to come in. In walked two of his men, Salvador a tall built man with dark brown hair and menacing black eyes and Mark who was about the same height and build except he had sandy blonde hair and light brown eyes filled with mischief. Lorenzo made it a point to get to know all his men and their families as it built a strong bond and left little room for betrayal. So far its worked.

"Sir do you have a moment?" asked Salvador.

"Yes, have a seat. What can I help you with gentlemen?"

The men took a seat and glanced at each other nervously, something which Lorenzo causing him to frown. Sitting up in his chair he clasped his hands together waiting for either man to tell him what was going on. Salvador decided to tell him the dreadful news.

"Sir, we just finished investigating regarding suspicious activity last night. A few of the wives reported seeing a figure lurking in their yards, peaking through random windows."

"Did you get the man?"

"No sir, while we were investigating we found that he ended here in your backyard and from what we found, he stood there for a while before fleeing."

"How was he able to get in with no detection? Did you check the footage to see if we can get a visual?" So many questions ran through his head. Who would be stupid enough to cross him and ty and enter his home?

Most importantly who were they and what did they want. His questions were about to be answered and from the look on both men's faces he wasn't going to like it.

"We can't figure out how they got in. A report has already been sent to Mr. Ricci (Leo) and Mr. Lombardi (Rico)." Salvador glanced and Mark who shifted nervously. At that Lorenzo raised a perfectly sculpted brow.
