Movie night

A cute little drabble between the two takes place in the modern AU (they're both in high school I did age them up from the original request). Also please forgive me I've never seen a horror movie in my life so if I got anything wrong whoops, enjoy ^^

Tanjiro was busy setting up snacks with his siblings as he waited excitedly for the doorbell to ring, his best friend Zenistu had agreed to come over and watch a horror movie with him. Nezuko popped her head into the kitchen with a curious glance slowly walking over the counter littered with goodies. She took a piece of popcorn before dashing back up the stairs, Tanjiro couldn't scold her about it without being interrupted by a soft knock at the door.

"I'll get it"!! Tanjiro exclaimed and rushed towards the door swinging it open, he took Zenistu by the hand and ran inside with him before the poor blonde could process what happened. From the living room Tanjiro's mother stood up to coral her other children off to their rooms for the evening. "Have a fun night you too and please not too loud your father has work in the morning" she waved them off with a smile leading her children in tow.

"So.. what movie did you have in mind? Hopefully nothing too scary" the blonde asked rather embarrassed. He knew he agreed to watch a horror movie, but still genre was scary to him. Tanjiro gave him a confused look "I thought you said you were so brave and could watch any horror movie" he taunted. The blonde gripped onto his backpack strap and let out a small sigh this caught the taller's attention and gave a panicked wave of his arms. "Hey hey it's ok I'll pick out a movie that isn't so scary ok? Go set your stuff up I'll bring out the snacks" he trailed off with a smile on his face. With that Zenistu walked into the living room and set his bag down as well as putting down his sleeping bag, smoothing out the plastic he pulled his hand away shaking it. Never liking the feeling of it, pulling out his pillow he sets it on top of the sleeping bag and decides that was good enough.

Tanjiros house was nice, much nicer than the house he and gramps were sharing. Not that Zenistu would ever complain about his house, he would forever be grateful for being able to live with his grandparents after what happened with his parents. He shook his head trying to not let those thoughts creep into his head, especially not when he and Tanjiro had planned such a fun night. "Fun" he chuckled to himself as if on cue Tanjiro returned with a bowl of popcorn with all sorts of candies mixed into it. A huge grin plastered on his face as he set the bowl down between the two and began flipping through the movie que. Zenistu scooted himself a bit closer to Tanjiro uneasiness coming over him drawing what movie the other was going to pick out, he glanced up at the screen seeing the title of "The Grudge 3" wash the room out in an eerie dark light.

The movie started up and Zenistu felt strangely ok with how the movie was going. For the most part the bad acting made up for the somewhat intense scenes,taking away from most of the scariness. Tanjiro looked like he was about to fall asleep, a piece of popcorn haphazardly sitting just above his lip. He tentatively reached his hand out to brush it off the others lips but just then he looked at the blonde somewhat alarmed. The panic from the other quickly faded with a slight smirk on the others face, the blonde tried to pull back his hand only for it to be stopped by Tanjiro's hand. "Now what were you doing putting your hands on my face like that". Zenistu opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out leaving a heavy pause between the two, Tanjiro dropped Zenistu's hand and went back to watching the movie with a slight smirk plastered on his face.

With a small sigh Zenistu turns his attention back to the movie, on screen the main character was in the bathroom watching the bathtub fill itself up to the point of overflowing. She goes to turn it off but is dragged into the tub, Zenistu jerks backwards slightly, brushing his hand on the floor against the others. Tanjiro stuck out his index finger and laid it on the other hand, the blonde didn't register the small gesture with a jumpscare of the girl being drowned and a scream in the background. This broke the blonde as he let out a quiet sob, Tanjrio turned and paused the movie imdeiatly pulling the blonde into him. He stroked the soft choppy golden locks, man I wonder who cut his hair. Tanjiro shook his head and reverted his attention back to the shaky blonde in his arms.

"Hey hey it's ok it's not real, it's just a movie you're all right I'm right here" he whispered still petting the blonde, after a couple of minutes he took his thumb and index finger getting the blonde to look him in the eyes. He smiles and places a gentle kiss on his forehead. The blonde let out a small noise that came out of a mix of a sniffle and a laugh. "Hah- man I'm sorry I didn't realize how much of a wuss I was" Zenistu said and Tanjiro let out a small laugh of his own "Dude it's fine you said horror wasn't your thing" the two stare at each other for a moment before sharing a quick kiss. "I'm sorry for stressing you out, we can stop the movie for the night and do something else if you'd like"? Zenistu nodded his head helping Tanjiro pick up scattered pieces of popcorn and m&m's that fell onto the floor, the two were under Zenistu's blanket mindlessly watching youtube. The blonde looking towards the brunette with a sappy smile, Tanjiro taking notice and pressing a finger to his nose, "Can I ask why you were touching my face during the movie?" he mused. Zenistu let out an awkward laugh "You had a piece of popcorn on your lips and I wanted to get it off for you".

Tanjiro smirked "If you wanted to kiss me you could've just said so" Zenistu gave him a haphazard glare "Well I did not I truly did just want to get the popcorn off your lips, you ass". Tanjiro laughed at that and rolled over onto his back, moving his eyes to the right signaling Zenistu to climb on top. The blonde happily obliged, having the brunette pinned beneath him he pressed a kiss on his lip. Ghosting a trail of kisses down his jawline before meeting his collar bone, pressing a harsh kiss at the nape of his neck, before collapsing onto the boy below him. "Goodnight babe" Tanjiro smiled, "Goodnight Zenistu".
