16-year-old Amber Talbot had a pretty good life -- straight A's, a job as a babysitter/live-in nanny for the Vasquez family and a somewhat stable social life, in spite of her prickly personality and her stubborn nature. All that changed when she met Billy Batson, and in spite of everything, the pair hated each other on sight.

Of course, that's not the only thing that changed when Billy entered the picture. When he becomes a superhero, Amber gets dragged into his world via a vague destiny granted by the ghost of a Wizard, and her job as a babysitter gets implanted with her role as the Emissary, some sort of 'minder' for the Champion.

While Amber's struggling to learn her own strange abilities, and supervillains come into play, she has to decide -- does she really want to be in this position? Or does she want something more?

Author's Note

Now, you may be thinking 'Siobhan, you've already had 4 chapters of this story as just a solo fic up on Wattpad, and then you trashed it and made it a crossover universe on Ao3? What gives? Why are you bringing it back now?'

Well, if I'm being honest seeing another @WritersBlock039 xover fic caused me to crosspost this fic, especially as it contains one of my fave concepts! That concept is crossing over the DCEU with aspects of the Marvel Universe, specifically certain MCU movies/TV shows, as well as the X-Men! Plus, I've finished this story and am now working on both the sequel and a sidestory that takes place between this story and the sequel.

Also, Black Adam coming out in October and Fury of the Gods in December really inspired me to keep going, especially with my magic kids and their hapless babysitter :') I've been drip-feeding chapters on ao3 for the past few weeks, so I figured, why not go the whole hog and just post it on Wattpad, one chapter a day?

I'm very excited to see how y'all respond to this, and dedicate this story to @ocfairygodmother, who has been instrumental in getting a lot of my story concepts off the ground! Thanks again for checking this out!
