Daddy Issues

I was starting to squirm under his gaze, every time I looked up he was already looking at me. He had his computer out but I haven't seen him type a single thing. He was sitting at the farthest table from the counter. But the shop was small enough so I could see him from where I stood. I won't lie, he's hot, but definitely way too old for me. He also looked somewhat familiar but I couldn't quite place my finger on what made him look so familiar to me. Nobara would definitely have a heart attack if she knew I was squeezing my thighs together over some random guy in a coffee shop. I looked over at Nobara who was extremely annoyed while making this lady's coffee.

"Finally," the lady mumbled, putting her money on the counter.

Nobara rolled her eyes, slid the money off the counter and put it in the cash register. She slowly groaned and walked over to me resting her head on my shoulder. She had dark eye bags and her blinks were getting heavier. She was obviously tired, and seeing her like this, all warned out and tired made me sad. Balancing jobs, school work, and a social life is genuinely exhausting. Nobara and Megumi get it the worst though, but for two completely different reasons. When Megumi isn't working he's studying. He doesn't really hang out with anyone but our little group, but even then he has a hard time managing it all. Nobara on the other hand doesn't really care for other people that aren't us, but she's always down to go to the frat parties. If she's not partying she's working. When she remembers that school work exists, she always begs Megumi to help her study otherwise she's fucked. Yuji and I on the other hand have a perfect balance. Our social life is pretty good, our grades aren't horrible and work isn't extremely draining on us. Yuji and I got very lucky.

"Are Yuji and Megumi coming today to visit?" I said, patting her head.

"No, they're 'too busy', but Yuji posted a Snapchat of Megumi and him at the batting rink," she said with a sigh.

She reluctantly lifted her head off my shoulder and started walking to the back while stretching her arms. She mumbled something about needing to pee before she disappeared. I leaned against the counter facing the back thinking of something to do. The shop was pretty dead today for some reason. Since there were no costumers I pulled my phone out of my back pocket. I started scrolling through the notifications when I heard someone walking up to the counter. I shut my phone off and put it back into my pocket turning toward the person who walked up behind me. It was him. He was even hotter up close. He had a scar on his lip which is something I didn't notice from afar. And he has the most beautiful green eyes. He smirked when he caught me looking at him for longer than I should have. I immediately looked down at my feet feeling my face grow warm.

"Hello sweetheart, just a black coffee please," he said, pulling his wallet out from his back pocket.

I felt my breathing hitch and my face grow even hotter at the name he had called me. I turned around grabbing a cup and pouring his coffee in it. I felt him staring at me causing me to feel nervous. I turned back around making my way back to the counter looking down at the floor. My shaky hands placed his cup on the counter. I slowly looked back up at him and he was looking down at me. He handed me a 20 and I went to grab it and our hands touched for a second and I felt my heart skip a beat.

"Here's your change sir," I said looking up at him.

Once he heard me say that he smirked, "Keep the change, pretty girl."

He picked up his coffee and he began walking out of the shop. I immediately panicked thinking I wouldn't see him again.

"Wait," I said louder than necessary.

He stopped at the exit then turned his head to look back at me, "Yes."

"Am I going to see you again?" I said, twisting the ring on my finger looking at him with hopeful eyes.

"You will, I promise," he waved at me then walked out the door.

I looked to the back where Nobara was to make sure she didn't watch the interaction happen. The last thing I needed was her judgment. I know she's just looking out for me but sometimes the things she says hurts my feelings. She would also tell Megumi and Yuji for sure. I'm not too worried about what Yuji would say, he's supportive no matter what. But Megumi is definitely going to judge, he may be worse then Nobara when it comes to judging people. I think I should keep my slight crush on this guy to myself.
