"You can't do betterrr!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. Leaving Steven with an annoyed look and my mom with a weird smile. "You c-", Steven shut the song off. "Steve you literally suck" I said folding my arms and falling back into my seat.
"Steven how far are we?" Mom asked. "Like twenty minutes with a gas station stop." She nodded trying to focus on driving. "You know y/n your destined to be with one of Susannah's boys" my mom said looking over at me. "That's what you've been saying for years mom" I said as she parked the car. I was about to get out when she said my name "Y/n it's true Susannah and I can both see it." "Sure mom, whatever helps you sleep at night" I laugh getting out of the van.
My hands were full on snacks. As soon as I made my way to the cashier he was giving me a smirk. "Are you new around here?" he asked looking up at me. "Nope I come every summer" I smiled. "Really? I think I'd remember a pretty face like yours. You planning on coming to the bonfire tonight?" he asked scanning my chips. "Actually maybe" I said as my mom walked over. She started making conversation with him.
Once everything was banged up we payed and started to leave. The cashier looked at me one more time "You should definitely come", "we could have a fun time" I smiled and nodded, waving goodbye. When I walked outside Steven was pumping gas. He finished then we were on our way to the cousins! My favorite place in the world. I waited for summer vacation all year long, I always looked forward to spending time with the Fisher's.
We were only like a block away from the house, I was nervous for some reason. I pulled down the car mirror and looked into it. I took my hair out of it's ponytail and applied a layer of chapstick.
Finally we pulled up in the driveway. As soon as we arrived Susannah was already waiting. I jumped out of the car. "Susannah!" I yelled going over to hug her. "Hi sweetheart" she said accepting my hug. As soon as we pulled apart she went over to greet my mom. I stood there for a moment until I saw my favorite sun kissed boy. "Jeremiah" I ran over to him. "My favorite Conklin" he said picking me up into a hug. I laughed as he spun me around. He eventually put me down. "You look amazing by the way" he said cutting into our conversation about school.
"Thanks Jer" I was gonna say more until I saw a dark haired figure come from around the corner. I gave Jeremiah a smile before I walked over to the figure. "Hey Conrad" I said walking up to him. His attention jolted towards me "hey y/n" he said leaning in the give me a quick hug. "The others are over there I'm gonna go back to them" I said pointing towards the others. He nodded then followed me.
"What time is it?" Jeremiah asked Steven. Oh great. "It's time.. for a y/n/n flop" Steven yelled. I knew what was coming so I tried to run away. I was to slow, Jeremiah hand his arms wrapped around my waist. They all grabbed ahold of me from different areas. "No stop" I yelled laughing. To late, I was already being swung by the pool. "1,2,3!" The three boys yelled as the threw me into the pool. I screamed as my body hit the water.
The three boys stood there laughing until Steven and Conrad walked away leaving me and Jeremiah. "Oww I hurt my ankle. Help me out" I whined. Jeremiah put his hand out to help me, I took this chance to pull him in. Once he hit the water he began splashing me. You could hear our laughs from a mile away. "Jeremiah!" I yelled with a laugh as he splashed a huge wave of water on me.
We eventually calmed down. Now we were just swimming in the pool at talking. "There's this bonfire tonight, you should come" Jeremiah said grabbing my hand underwater. "I'll think ab-" I got cut off. "Y/n dear I want to show you your room!" Susannah cheered. I nodded and let go of Jeremiah's hand. He gave me a pouty look as I walked inside following Susannah.
