INTRODUCTION Stanley Barber had a crush. A very obvious one at that, according to his best friend, Arlo.
But whenever Sydney Novak came around the corner, it seemed Stanley would immediately drop him to go be with Syd.
Now, don't get Arlo wrong, he's thrilled for Stan, but some part of him was breaking as he watched his best friend drift further and further away.
While his moms are away, Arlo is alone in an empty house with just him and his guitar. So, he decides that if Stan can make new friends, then so can he.

TRAITS arlo is very emotionally driven and gets attached to people too quickly. stanley is someone that stuck with him through everything, so of course it hurt to see him becoming distant.
he has a guitar and it's practically his child.

river is non-binary and is basically deena but less intense
they don't have the greatest home life and struggle with coming out to their parents

STORY NOTES - arlo is our pan icon - river plays bass, and arlo met them when accidentally walking in on them playing. - he was stunned by their skills and was immediately hooked - river and arlo started hanging out which led to stan becoming jealous of the pair - after syd rejects stan at the party, he seeks out arlo and they almost kiss after stan tells him what happened - "i won't be your rebound stan. i won't let you play with my feelings like that." - river is there for him - note that there are never any feelings between river and arlo, stan just thinks there is - does the detention happen before or after the party? well, whenever that is, river and arlo will both be there and help with the plan - after the party, stan is confused and questioning everything, but realizes that he likes arlo. - at the dance, they will dance together after talking it out (maybe a lil kiss) - pls just make it pure fluff
