I woke up to my loud, screeching alarm clock. I opened my eyes slowly and the shown time was 8 am. "I really must get a better alarm clock." I sat up, quickly glancing at the folded clothes at the foot of my bed that I had prepared the night before. "I finally get to go to school in Paris..." I looked out my window dreamily as I picked up the clothes.

Walking to my bathroom, I flicked on the mirror light, and it lit up instantly, illuminating the bathroom and making it glitter. I pulled off my shirt. I dressed myself quickly and curled my blonde hair into waves. Using my hands, I teased my hair until the waves looked how I desired. Makeup sat lined against the vanity in which I stood in front of. I did my makeup simply and naturally to give off a more innocent and kinder first impression.

"RIN! IF YOU TAKE ANY LONGER YOU SHALL MISS THE RIDE!" My mother's voice called out from below. "I WILL BE THERE IN A MOMENTS!" I shouted in response. I pressed the light switch and speed walked out of the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.

I grabbed my white backpack from the corner of my room and stuffed a few notebooks and utensils inside it that were not previously placed there. I practically jumped down the stairs and when I got to the foot of them, I paused, and greeted my mother politely. "Good morning, mother." I nodded my head down slightly in respect and walked out the door.

Hopping on the bus I sat in a seat in the front, nobody was on this early besides me and I instructed where I needed to go. The ride in its entirety took about 5 minutes and I glanced at the time. "8:30, I should have 5 minutes before class starts. Now would be a good time to introduce myself to everyone...." I walked to the principal's office where I had been instructed to go when I arrived on my first day. "Good morning." I greeted.

"Well, hello there! I'm principal Damocles, head of Françoise Dupont high school. It's a pleasure to have you here!" The man's smile was a friendly one. "Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Damocles." I nodded. He motioned to the door, "allow me to lead you to your class, it's the least I can do."

After a talk about the school and what it offered, we arrived at the class. "Good morning, everyone! This is the new student Miss Bustier has told you about. Please welcome her well." I looked at the class of 20 some people all looking right back at me with curious eyes. "Now Miss Rin if you need anything, anything at all do not hesitate to ask me, or Miss Bustier." I once again nodded as he left and turned back to the class.

"My name is Rin Marena. I'm very happy to be here today and hope to be good friends with everyone." I smiled warmly as everyone got up started crowding me with questions. "NOW NOW EVERYONE!" Miss Bustier raised her voice and everyone quieted. "Rin you may sit in the row that Alex is sitting in." Alex raised her hand and waved, motioning for me to come to where she was. I walked up and sat next to her. The conversation was a blur and the class eventually returned to normalcy.

Naturally I already understood the lecture but found it interesting the way she explained it to everyone.

It was over in a flash and a black-haired girl, and her friend came over to greet me. "Hey! I'm Marinette and this is-" Marinette was interrupted by her friend. "I'm Alya, would you like to sit with us at lunch?" I was taken aback. "Oh... ah sure!" I smiled, nodding with determination. "I'd love to."

I followed them to the lunch line and went through, handing the lady 1.90 Euros and walked with them to the table. Everyone waved as I approached. "Uh... hello!" I waved back with a smile. I took a seat next to Marinette and put my tray down as I did so. "I'm Rin M..."

"We already know! You're like the talk of the class!" I watched; this girl introduced herself. "I'm Rose and this is Juleka and ..." Rose went on to introduce everyone else. "Wow that's a lot of people." I grinned while looking at everyone else. Maybe this would be a good choice after all. Previously she wanted to stay in America simply because she blended in. But now, she felt like she belonged and that made her happy.

"Oh! We must warn you about something special in this city..." Rose said, looking down. "Yeah, this city has supervillains." Marinette chimed in, looking at me with a serious expression on her face.

"Don't worry we have Ladybug and Cat Noir..." Juleka muttered, sounding determined. I looked confused... "Um... Ladybug and Cat Noir? Who are they?" I asked, wanting to understand more about this beautiful city and its lifestyle now that I was living here permanently.

Suddenly, everyone at the table gasped and pulled out their phones, showcasing videos and photos of the marvelous superheroes at work. "Wow... I can't believe they're real-life superheroes!" I gasped in awe. "I wish I could be a superhero..." I sighed and rested my chin on the palm of my hand. "I think everyone here does." Alya shrugged and opened her mouth to speak. But before she could, the bell rang.

Marinette got up with Alya. "That bell means it's class time. We should head back so that we aren't late." They both nodded for me to come along, and I followed.

(3:28 PM; PARIS, FRANCE)

"So... Alex." I paused, packing up my bag before we would be dismissed. "We just go home when we leave right? Since everything's in walking distance." I asked, curiously. "No after school activities or anything?" Alex nodded, throwing a book into her bag before slinging it over her shoulder. "Catch ya' later Rin!" I waved as people slowly departed and made their daily commute back home.

I started strolling down towards the door when someone suddenly grabbed my shoulder. "Alya? Do you need something?" I asked, turning around to face her.

"Only your phone number, girl! I'll add you to our group text so you can hang out with any of us whenever you want." Alya smiled, handing me her phone so I could put in my phone number. I typed the number in quickly and waved. "Thanks, Alya! I gotta get going now so... uh bye!"

Hurriedly I rushed out of the school. Once I got out, I began my walk home and watched as the city was bustling with Parisians doing their daily jobs or out for a day of fun.

My house was in the distance, and I walked up the building stairs to enter it. I called out. "I'm home, mother." Stepping inside, I walked up to my bedroom and began to work on my unfinished homework.
