A/NOkay, I have to mention that this chapter is pretty DARK. It contains some violence towards the end, so if that makes you uncomfortable please skip it.
And the rest of you, enjoy the show :)

Damien's POV
"Where is he?" I asked my guard who I had ordered to bring Valentino down at the dungeons for a much needed encounter.
I was growing impatient because I would rather be standing beside Aliya right now. Almost laughing at the irony, I realized she replaced me as she now lay unconsciously on my bed. Just as I came to my senses and woke up from the long slumber, she decided to lose her own senses and let me bite her. I was still having a hard time trying to figure out why she did that in the first place; I was seriously questioning her selfless ways. She could be so blinded to the dangers of the world around her, not knowing the consequences of facing them.
If she wasn't locked up for most of her life, I seriously wondered if she would have survived to even live this day.
I shook my head, what was wrong with me? Why was I thinking ill of her and getting pissed when all she was trying to do was help the human maid and satisfy my craving?
Perhaps she trusted me to not hurt her, but I wasn't even myself at the time. She should never put that much faith in someone like me, who can flip and do something unexpected at the very last second. It was in my nature to be unpredictable and dangerous, she must understand that.
At the same time, I couldn't blame her. The thick walls of the dungeons prevented her mind from growing past them, keeping her safe from the outside world.
It's not her fault; it was mine for not allowing her to experience life and learn to make correct choices.
She acts upon instincts, and she just happened to have a natural instinct to help those in need.
It was something I should be proud of, but the thought of her getting hurt because of the stupidity restricts me from fully celebrating her selfless acts.
Like tonight, she should've just let me drink from the maid and anyone else I was going to hunt down afterwards. That wouldn't have affected me as much as the thought of draining her and putting her through this situation.
Although, she would be fine, I assured myself.
Right as I fed a good amount of her blood and my hunger started to slow, I retrieved my mouth from her wrist and healed her wounds with a lick of my tongue. Then I had to feed her drops of my own blood to knock some life back into her. She would be up and running around the castle like the curious little cat she was in no time. I looked down at my hands, I felt like I had the power to destroy the world at the tip of my fingers. My body felt a new high from the sweetness of her blood, but my mind was consumed with the guilt of hurting her.
I wouldn't be feeling that guilt if I wasn't put in that situation in the first place. All this was because of the attack last night, I felt something was off the moment I stepped out of the dining hall.
Right when I was about to go check up on Aliya and make sure she had guards outside her room, despite my presence, I heard some activity going on over the rooftop terrace.
My enhanced hearing picked up on hushed voices and alerted me that we had intruders lurking the castle. I couldn't pick up on their scent but by the time I came across them, they shot me with something that weakened my abilities like never before.
