I've always wondered why I'm so slow,

While my friend, Nick Wild the fox is fast in speed.

Hey, my name is Flash the sloth.

I'll share the uncovered discoveries I with you, though I'm fatigued.

Follow me, and zoom into the macrocosm of the brain.

To enter, knock-knock on the skull, then go through the meninges.

Don't you worry about the brain, it is cushioned by the cerebrospinal fluid,

And safely encased by the triple layers of the meninges.

From the dorsal view, we see the brain is divided into two hemispheres,

Where the creative right controls the left side of the body,

And where the logical left controls the right side of the body.

This structure is also called the brain lateralization, Woah, very golly.

As a sloth, I tend to forget things easily,

The brain is adaptable and flexible like plastic.

Perhaps my hippocampus the core of memory is lazy like me,

This is what neuroplasticity is known for being fantastic.

Now take a closer look at the brain's anatomy.

Prefrontal cortex for maturity, the limbic system for emotions,

Brainstem for automatic functions, spinal cord for communication,

And cerebellum for balancing physical actions.

The smaller the cerebellum, the slower you are,

The bigger the cerebellum, the faster you are.

I get it now,

No wonder it's impossible to beat Nick in a race, how bizarre!

Oh dear, my eye lids feel heavier.

The brain's demanding the basal forebrain to shut down.

And doze me off to another round of 10 hours of sleep,

Dangling onto a tree trunk with a frown.
