Roger
15 September YEAR 10After hours of cleaning every nook and cranny inside the storage room, we all sighed in tiredness flopping our asses on the cramped wooden chairs. I could feel my heart thump harder everytime I inhale, as the veins in my head started to shriek but I brushed it off. I knew I forgot to take my medicines again. I could feel the pressure in my chest build up and Freddie seemed to have noticed. "Hey Rog, you okay?"
I saw his face filled with concern, never in my life would I thought that someone who I just met would ask if I'm fine, it almost made me want to break down in tears. I paced myself by taking a deep breath, I nodded; Reassuring Freddie that I am alright. The uni bell finally rang which was a sign that school is over, Brian jumped from his chair and grabbed the Astronomy book on top of the piano, sliding it inside his backpack. I chuckled, ignoring the sharp pain taking over my body "Make sure Mr. Reiz doesn't find out you kept that book."
"Oh shut up Rog, if he finds out I'll be fine. My parents are the Co-Owners of the school after all." He smiled proudly, zipping his bag as quickly as possible. We could hear footsteps outside, assuming that it was the headteacher because of how sloppy the steps were.
Mr. Reiz leaned on the door frame, tapping the wooden wall with his fingertips. "You sure you didn't miss anything?" He raised an eyebrow, glaring at all of us with his piercing eyes.
"Yes Sir, I already made sure." Freddie says, playfully winking at the headteacher.
"Okay, okay whatever. Get your asses out of here."
Freddie groaned while stretching his arms out, "Fucking finally...would've slapped that old man if he didn't leave."
I stood frozen for a while, hoping for the pain to go away. It felt like millions of knives struck my body over and over again, I thought I'd be fine. Brian suddenly wrapped his arms around my shoulder, "Sooo....we'll meet up here again?"
"Sure." Freddie replied, hence, not even looking back at the tall dark haired male.
"And Deaky?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, I'm down."
I scoffed at Brian, "You're not even going to ask me?"
He gave me a stale smile, his grasp slowly loosening, "Eh no need, I mean you can't deny your best friend can you?" Brian gave me his old pity look, I thought it looked goofy; And I would lie if I said that he isn't right about that. He was my only best friend.
A few months later...
The other guys and I had become even more closer than before, we hanged out every chance we got and would skip classes just to go to the storage room to have fun. Mostly, you'd see Freddie play the old piano which was still in tune even after getting abandoned for years. Though, hanging out with the boys might be a very risky move, but I've never felt more happier in my life. Today, we decided to go to the beach since it's the weekend. Usually we go at each other's houses personally if we planned something but this time, I decided that I'll go to the beach first. There was this small wooden dock where my dad used to take me when I was a kid, I sat down on it, reminiscing old memories. The wind felt so refreshing and a sense of freedom took over me.
"Rog?" A familiar voice said behind me. It was Brian.
I turned to him as he approaches; nearing the old cranky wooden pier, sitting down beside me. He took a deep breath while looking at the breathtaking view. "Why were you here so early?" He said without taking his eyes off of the clear sea water.
"I'll ask the same thing to you." I blankly replied. He looked at me for a second, his weird stank face appearing once again. His eyebrows furrowed a bit and his lips slowly curled into a lump, while his head shook a bit.
"Stop making that face, you look so ugly."
He chuckled playfully, "You never arrive early, what makes this situation more strange is you're the very first one to come here."
I rolled my eyes, looking away from the tall black haired male. "Oh bollocks, here we go again."
Silence took over the both of us, only the soothing sound of the waves splashing entered our ears. Brian made a circle shape using his hand, peeking out against the hole. I found it funny, Brian might be older than me, but his inner child tends to take over him more often than before. We've been friends since middle school and he was a bit of a loner before, he always felt uncomfortable when he's around people.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
He put his hand down, scooting closer to me, "See that small rock over there?" He pointed to something the naked eye can't even see, this guy probably has eagle eyes.
"You're literally pointing to nothingness, Bri."
He looked at me again, disappointment was visible in his face. He grabbed my left hand and shaped it exactly like the circle he made before, I peeked through it.
"Do you see it now?"
I almost spent an entire minute trying to find the rock he was talking about, but I couldn't see any. "Why can't I see it when you do?!" I exclaimed.
Suddenly, Brian barked a laugh, slapping his thigh, "That's because there was never a rock." He laughed maniacally, I suddenly felt the urge to just drown him and his body floats away then he gets engulfed by a shark, but too bad I'm a nice friend. I pushed him off the dock, a high pitched scream coming out of his mouth whilst his ass lands on the water, drenching his pants. The sight of him looking so annoyed while the water damped half of his body was so funny.
"What the fuck!? You're such a bitch!" He yelled at me with fury and rage.
"That's what your mom said."
