was this the mistake i never waited for?

I was covered in head to toe with the maroon blood slowly dripping down me. (Did I really do this?) I thought as I watched her lifeless body lay by my shivering feet. My body trembled as i slowly walked towards them. I realised that I now had to take responsibility of something I didn't intend to do.

It was like a trance. A rush of energy thrashed through my head. I didn't even realise what I had done until the warm liquid flowed down my face.
My mother always taught me to be a good person, and yet here I am, trembling to my knees next to my dead ****** (you figure it out later)
