I need to watch my tone
I need to watch where I look and how
Just need to be a perfect daughter
Wait
I'm not even a girl
Oh well, just go with it
Go with it until you're safe
Go with it until you're comfortable
Not too comfortable though
Never too comfortable
Comfort is dangerous
With comfort comes being relaxed
And with relaxation comes slip ups
Relaxation overrides caution
Overrides the anxiety
The pain in your chest that keeps you in line
But is the pain needed?
No, don't go there
Don't follow that train of thought
Of course it's needed
Why wouldn't it be?
It's the only thing keeping me here
Keeping my life from being an endless roller coaster
The only thing making the last 3 years of my childhood bearable
Or, I guess, the last 3 years of being in care bearable
My friends say my childhood disappeared long ago
That I didn't have one or that it was cut far too short
Anyways
Say the right thing
Do the right thing and it'll be fine
Right?
