Not a lot to say about this one. It's sad. Greg is a sad character, and it's only going to get worse from here.
I wrote this one to sort of more directly address Greg's lost memories, and the song that I paired with it, Ocean by Cold, is meant to kind of emphasize the reality of the situation with the chorus: "I will never get you back".
It's explored some more as the series continues, because Greg was a little bit of a one-note character, but that was the point I wanted to establish. That and the fact that someday, he's going to have to face the reality that he's delaying building a new life for himself because he's waiting for the old one to suddenly reassert itself.
And that just isn't going to happen.
It's something I wanted to explore more in the sequel series to The Shadow Wars but now I'm not even sure if that's ever going to be a thing.
