This could be going worse, Harry thought as they sat down at there table. Draco thanking the waiter and looking at the menu. Not only did Draco see his friends helping him get ready, Draco had to deal with Kreacher, and he seemed unimpressed and concerned about the ring. But it could be worse Voldemort could be their waiter, Harry let out a small sigh. They had just been sat at a table in the far corner of an extremely posh Muggle restaurant. The littles where dim and it was all very reminiscent of the romantic dramas Aunt Petunia used to watch. Draco sat across from him nose in a menu looking stunning.
"Can I start you with any drinks?" A waiter asked shocking Harry out of his daze. Harry looked down at the wine menu and didn't know how to pronounce most of them let alone know what tasted good. Before he could ask for a little more time Draco responded.
"A bottle of the 1996 Alois Lageder 'Krafuss' Pinot Noir Alto Adige, please." Draco said. And from the waiter's reaction not only was this a good choice, Draco had said it right.
"A good choice sir, I will have it out right away.'" And with that the waiter left.
"I didn't know you spoke French." Harry said trying to make conversation. Draco chuckled that the statement.
"I don't, I speak wine and it's Italian." Draco said with a sly smile.
"Oh,"Harry said awkwardly,"How was your Christmas?" He asked changing the topic.
"Okay, you?" Draco responded and Harry could tell this was not the right question to ask.
"It was okay," Harry needed to change the atmosphere, "Sorry, I am not really used to fancy things like this."
"I can tell. But, luckily for you I am well acquainted with the poshness of these establishments. Though if you don't mind me asking, why did you bring me here?" Draco said looking around the restaurant. Harry blushed and was happy it was so dim.
"Hermione suggested it and I thought it would impress you." Harry said then realizing what he had said he back tracked. "I mean... it seemed nice and... ahh." Then Harry was saved by the waiter bringing the wine back. He poured it into some glass thing waited a while then poured it into to wine glasses. Harry was trilled that he didn't have to order there was a prepared menu for the night, because of the holiday. The waiter walked away and Draco picked up the glass and swirled it. "You are a pretentious prat." Harry said out of habit.
"Well, you are shit at flirting and yet here we are." Draco retorted. "Do you know what you're going to do after school yet?" Draco asked that was a great question why had Harry not thought of that.
"I'm going into Auror training, what about you?" Harry said trying to stop sweating so much.
"Don't know yet but I think I'm going to help Pansy start a boutique." Draco said he hadn't looked Harry in the eye sense they left the house.
"You going to model?" Harry asked, although forwarded it seemed like a given. Harry felt relief as Draco's face softened.
"No, finance and marketing, But I appreciate the flattery. Are you planning on staying in Sirius's house?" Draco asked sipping his wine. "I don't imagine it is your favorite place?" Harry took affiance to that he liked Grimmauld Place and it's not like he had another home.
"I like it and it's mine. Anyway I can't just leave Kreacher and I don't think I could get him to leave." Harry said with an edge in his voice.
"Oh sorry I didn't mean, never mind." Draco said and the table went silent. As the meal continued so did the silence. Some where comments made here and there, but was mostly chewing and cutlery clinking . Harry had not expected it to be so awkward, but dinner felt way more like a date than the market had. It wasn't till the bill came till an actual conversation started. Draco and Harry reached at the same time hands brushing.
