Nicki's POV

"I better make a fucking bag tonight," I said to Lauren as we walked from the back.

"I have a feeling you might," Jhene smiled walking over to us.

"Why, what you know," Lauren asked looking over.

"I saw Nip," Jhene smiled. Lauren smiled at me too.

"And when my man is here you know who else is here," Lauren said. I rolled my eyes.

"I have actual work to do and none of it involves you hoes playing matchmaker," I said sashaying to the bar. I heard their giggles behind me. What are these two up to?

"Barbie we need you in the VIP Section," Khaled called out on the Mic. I looked up to the balcony that held our biggest spenders. He didn't say which VIP section so instead of heading up the stairs aimlessly. I turned and looked for our house mother.

"Nicki, I know Khalid told you to head to VIP," she said once I entered her makeshift office.

"Yes which section, and why am I working VIP. I never work those, usually it's Cardi and Desire. I'm not trying to step on toes," I countered.

"You were requested. I don't care about whatever you, cardi, and desire have going on. The club needs to make money. It's section 3, and we already have their card on file. Since that seems to be hard for you to do. Wouldn't want a repeat of last night," she said, giving me an impatient smile.

"Who requested me and why," I asked. I had too much on the line. I can't be so well known that people are requesting me. I work here to stay invisible.

She huffed. "Are you here to make money or do you want to get fired? Get out of my office and go do your job!"

I quickly left her office and went to section 3. "I thought you weren't gonna come up," a sultry voice said as soon as I cleared the rope.

"You've been waiting that long," I asked looking up at her.

"I feel like it's been weeks since I've last seen you," she said, grabbing my hand.

"You've missed me huh," I asked, letting her lead me to the couch of the VIP.

"Okay how long has it been," she countered, pulling me on her lap.

"It's been three days BK. Plus we live in the same neighborhood," I giggled.

"Yeah but you act mean when I see you around the way. You only talk to me when I pay you for your time," she said.

"You make me sound like a hooker."

"You have far too much pride to be a hooker," she responded.

"You said that like it's a bad thing."

"I said that like your pride stops you from asking for help," she said curtly, but there was no heat behind it anymore. This was an old argument, she no longer tried to convince me otherwise.

"I got this."

"No, you don't but I play my role and let you do what you want baby. You'll come to me eventually," she said, running her nails down my back. I relaxed into her touch letting her hands give a soft massage.

"Barbie," I heard Khaled say snapping me out of Zen state. "You got other sections they want you," he continued. I sighed disappointed that my relaxation was so short lived.

"She's good," BK said, waving her hand in the air.

"I have to go do my job," I responded. She held me in place.
