Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 1

"Alanna! Come on, we're gonna be late and i really have to pee!" I heard my brother say while he repeatedly bangs on the door with his fists.

"Can you stop? Gosh. I'll be out in a second!" I say, putting on a final coat of mascara. Every summer we go to cousins beach with my best friend Belly, Conrad fisher, Jeremiah fisher, and Susannah fisher, the boys mother. Every year I try my hardest to tell Jeremiah how I feel about him and every summer I leave the beach house without telling him.

Something inside of me was telling me that this summer would be different. This would be the summer when I finally ended up with the boy of my dreams, Jeremiah fisher.

I take one final look at myself in the mirror before heading to the car. "Took you long enough," Chris says before starting the car up. My mom who's in the passenger seat turns around and stares at me, narrowing her eyes.

"What?" I say frowning. "What's with all the makeup?" She says. Chris turns around to look at me and laughs. "She's clearly trying to impress her boyfriend, Jeremiah." He says mockingly, before wrapping his arms around himself, mimicking two people making out.

"Shut up chris!" I say before picking up my neck pillow and throwing it at him. My mom laughs it off and Chris steps on the gas.

When we get closer to the beach house i'm hit with a familiar sense of nostalgia. I take a deep breath in and close my eyes, soaking in the salty beach air. My hairs blowing in the wind, my music is blasting in my ears, it's a perfect moment.

The second the car pulls into the driveway, I get butterflies in my stomach. I use my phone to make sure my makeup still looked good and applied a quick layer of chapstick. Chris parks and gives two quick honks to let everyone know we had arrived.

Jeremiah comes out first and Chris runs out the car to dap him up and pull him into a hug. I step out of the car and awkwardly stand there before Jere and I make eye contact. He looks me up and down and I can't help but to smile ear to ear.

"Look who came back all grown up!" He says before scooping me off the ground and spun me around. This was all I needed. Being in his arms, breathing in his scent.

He placed me down and we stand there for a moment just looking into each other's eyes. I sometimes feel like I could get lost in those ocean blue eyes, like I could get pulled under and drown.

Suddenly we are both pulled out of our trances when Belly and Conrad run out. "Belly!" I yell and we run to hug each other. I gave Conrad tight hug and then Susannah comes outside. She pulls me into a hug and puts both her hands on my shoulders. "Look at you, Alanna!" She pulls me into a hug and then runs to go hug my mom.

Unfortunately, Belly's mom Laurel couldn't make it due to a business opportunity. Even though this summer wouldn't be the same without her, we were going to try our best to make it count. This would be the summer of our life's.

I know i kinda forgot to introduce steven in this chap but i swear he's there 😭
