Chapter 1

In a forest filled with lush trees, its leaves rustling by the winds and the light of the setting sun as it shines through the ground, a young boy is currently reading a book below the shade of an old tree.

"Hey, Hilm! Aren't you going home already?" Arthur asked

I looked at Arthur and replied "Just a moment, Arthur. I'm almost finished with this book."

"What good you can you get by reading those kinds of books? Aren't you bored sitting there all day? I'd rather cultivate than read a book every day." Arthur remarked.

I smiled and replied, "Arthur, have you heard of the saying 'the one who reads is akin to someone who has lived for a thousand lives?"

"Nonsense! There's no way that saying exists. You just made that one up. The truth is you just want to read your book and relax all day, isn't it?" Arthur said as he laughed loudly, thinking that he saw right through me.

I smiled and laughed with Arthur.

"Anyways, I'll be on my way first. My mom's going to kill me if I'm late." Arthur fretted wearing a feared expression.

"Yeah. Go home already before your mother will scold you for hours." I yelled wearing a smirk while looking at Arthur.

Arthur is older than me but he said that I should call him by his name.

After Arthur left, I looked at the sky deep in thought.

I reincarnated into this world a month ago.

The owner of this body is named Hilm Albion. Long silver white hair, green eyes, and a pale skin tone. His parents are nowhere to be found and are now adopted by a relative family. Based on Hilm's memories, His parents died in an unknown dimension when he was just 5 years old.

Because Hilm was still young, he was adopted by his relatives, the Holstein Family.

The Holstein family is a powerful ancient family that dates back a thousand years ago. They own the largest company in the country, The Empire. The Holstein family is a family of four people, the couple Mr. and Mrs. Holstein, the 20 year old big brother Arthur Holstein, and the 3 year old little Christian Holstein.

The family is good and they treated Hilm like a family, especially Arthur Holstein. Due to Mr. and Mrs. Holstein being busy in their company, Arthur was always there for Hilm to comfort and play with him. Arthur was 15 years old at that time and had yet to inherit the company.

At first, everything was good. However, Hilm was treated harshly at school by his peers. Because of his weird appearance, they treated him harshly and isolated him. Though he was not hurt physically due to the Holstein family background.

The night before I transmigrated into Hilm's body, he had already fallen into a deep depression. He wished that he would die and disappear which gave me the chance to transmigrate into his body though it is not my intention.

As for me, well, I am an orphan in my past life. I remember saving a kid's cat on a tree and then nothing after that. I must have fallen and died. It is regrettable that I died like that but I certainly didn't regret saving the cat's life. I would do it again if given the chance, well with more cautiousness of course. I don't want to die a second time for the same reason, that would be really embarrassing.

Anyways, the world I transmigrated to is no ordinary world.

It is a modern cultivation world where countless cultivators strive to reach the apex of astral soul cultivation. It's not your typical cultivation world where it follows the rule of strength where the strong are the winners and the weak are the losers. In the modern cultivation world, though strength is an important factor, there are already existing rules to protect every citizen's rights.

Everyone starts to cultivate at the age of 10 after they have awakened their Astral Soul that came from the Nine Heavenly Layers. The nine heavenly layers' origin was mysterious but the astral soul contained within was endless and each layer corresponds to the strength of a martial soul being 1st layer as the lowest and 9th layer as the highest.

Before the age of 10, the children are taught to meditate to enhance their perception in order to reach higher layers.

I personally like this world because it didn't discriminate against people solely based on talent but also on hard work. This means with hard work, one should be able to reach a higher cultivation realm, unlike other cultivation novels I read in my past life. The only difference is the speed of cultivation.

I am currently 8 years old. Being a transmigrator and a young child with gaps in knowledge about this world, I need to adjust and fit in and also search for more information about this world.
