A Battle for Freedom

Zaluna's POV

   The two females instantly lunged for the eggmobile, latching onto each side in an attempt to bring it down.   Eggman did nothing to stop them, until he simply pulled a switch on the control panel.  Laser canons appeared on the wall, targeting the enemy;  Us.  In fear, we dispersed to make ourselves a harder target, the lasers beginning to shot aimlessly around the room.  Some shots strayed, flying straight toward the blue and green zeti.  I had the urge to run over and get him out of the way, but before I could, he disappeared in a flash of light, the lasers landing on the spot he once stood.

  In the same flash, he reappeared right next to me and grasped my shoulder.  "We need to talk."

  In only a second, me and him disappeared and reappeared behind large crates.  Shaking away from his grip, I faced him with a face full of anger but also confusion.  "The hell was the for?!"

  He put a finger to my lips, shushing me  "Your gonna have to listen to me if we all want to survive this."  He whispered. 

  Reluctantly, I kept my mouth shut. He nodded "Now listen, if you guys help us get to the computer terminal, we can set it to self destruct, and we all can get out of here safely.  All you got to do is distract Eggman."

  I crossed my arms, shaking my head  "Now wait right there Skipper, who said anything about we, I don't recall saying anything about helping you bomb the place .  And secondly Skipper, we have our own mission to accomplish.  We can't waste our time helping you if my friend's life is at stake."  I said. 

  He frowned at my response  "What do you mean by your 'Friend's life is at stake'?"

  "You see that contraption."  I pointed to the glass tube  "She's trapped inside there, and we're trying to get her out.  Until we get her out, we can't help you."

  A smile was suddenly plastered on his face, pointing one finger in the air.  "Alright then, what about this.  How's about you and your crazy friend help me set the place to blow, and I'll get two of my friends to help you guys out.  That sound fair, Doll?"

  He offered me a hand, with a confident smirk.

  My hand met his, holding it with a strong grip  "It's Zaluna, not Doll. Got it Skipper." 

  He gripped my hand even tighter, his emerald eyes glinting mischievously  "The name's Ziro, and I'll be sure to remember that...Doll."

  The only words I could get out was "Why you little-", before he teleported me and himself back where both our allies were.  The lasers finally stopped, but everyone was grouped together taking back to back. 

  I caught Zavok's attention with a tap to his shoulder, turning his head slightly in interest.  "Zavok, We've got a plan."

"Who's We-"

"Just focus on getting Zamanthia, Me and Zazz are gonna help the other zetis with their mission.  And don't worry, they'll help you too." 

  With that, I motioned for Zazz to follow me as I went for the terminal.

Zavok's POV

  I watched as she ran off with Zazz, blinking in suprise.  Great, she just left us.  But my thoughts became distracted when I heard the familiar thunder of oncoming Badniks and robots.  I was ready for their attack, but I wasn't ready for the defeaning sound of the Cacophonic Shell.  All but Zaluna and the ones known as Zilant and the leader were unaffected. 

  In response, Zilant leapt right onto the eggmobile and snatched the shell from the Doctor's grasp.  Without warning, he lunged towards the glass tube and slammed the shell on the glass surface.  The glass cracked slightly, but the shell broke into pieces from the hard impact.  Once he landed back on his feet, he smiled in accomplishment at the Dr.

  Eggman was quick to react, fuming  "How dare you defy me!! I'll show you the punishment for all those who get in my way!!"

  He pulled a small switch, the robots instantly attacking.  I tried to control them like before, but was unable to.  "Sorry, but I improved them to be immune to your control!"  Eggman stated.

  In desperation,  I rammed through them with ease, but my entire focus was getting to the contraption.  But no matter how close I got, the robots kept coming at me, blocking the way.

  It almost seemed futile until Zomom slammed himself into the herd of Badniks and destroyed everything in his radius.  Without wasting the opportunity, I dashed towards the target with a newfound sense of adrenaline.

  Zaluna's POV
 
  "Zazz, for the last time, stop beating the bots!!  They are just distractions now let's go!!!"  I yelled over the chaos as I grabbed his arm and literally dragged him along with me.

  The terminal was so close now, only a mere few yards away, but the only thing that stood between us was a platoon of robots, charging at us simultaneously.  We don't have time for this.  I screamed in my head.

   But as if something heard my demand, the green zeti from before leapt into the fray and brought many badnik's down with her from the impact of her landing.  Instantly recovering, she dashed for the largest one, latching onto it's large cannon arm and ripped it right out of it's sockets, cackling sadistically the whole time.  I watched the entire thing, but then snapped back to reality  "Come on Zazz, let's-"  I stopped as I realized he was no longer next to me. 

  It didn't take much effort to search for him though, because all I had to do was bring my focus back to the green zeti, who was now joined by Zazz in their bloodthirsty rampage for destruction.  My shoulders slumped downward as I held an all knowing scowl.  "Why the hell am I not suprised."  I muttered to myself, holding back the earful I was gonna give him.
