Like I do everyday i meet Max outside the school as I wait for him, he has a lot of friends and a lot of girls gushing over him who he has to get through before meeting up with me.
And there he was my best friend Max walking with my crush Garrett, of course he lied about them not being friends with him, classic.
I see Max and Garrett approach closer as I peer to see if they part ways but they get into a 3 metre radius and that's when I realize they aren't splitting ways.
"Hey Cass."
"Hey-"
"Ready to walk home."
I cringe a little, then I nod.
"You know Garrett right?" Max laughed.
"I think so."
"Who's she?" Garret looked as if he's never seen me before.
Damn.
"Oh this is Cassidy, best friends since we were like 1 years old."
"Nice to meet you Cass."
I felt butterflies over me being pissed off when he said "Cass"
I smiled back.
We began to walk in the direction where we lived, yeah i knew Garrett lived pretty close to me but he never knew me.
"She's kinda hot." Garrett whispered to Max.
I could hear him but i pretended I wasn't listening.
"So you're best friends."
"Yeah Cass and I have known each other for forever."
"so you aren't dating?" Garrett awkwardly hyped up
"Oh no Cass and I? No not at all."
Garrett looks up at me instead of Max this time.
"So Cass."
I turn to look but the piercing effect of eye contact pushed my eyes away back onto the sidewalk.
"Are you busy this weekend."
I swallow an almost suffocating breathe of air, the one i've always wanted to swallow down, the moment I thought would never come.
"No I-"
"Cut it out man you have a girlfriend."
Oh.
"What." Garrett defends himself.
"What do you mean Max? me and Sasha?"
"Yes you and Sasha!"
"We we're done like over a week ago."
Max sighs.
"So what do you say Cassidy?"
I looked up again as I awkwardly listened.
"She definitely doesn't want to go out with you man." Max rolls his eyes.
"Yes I will go." I almost yell of excitement.
"See what I told ya Max."
I see Garrett's house in the closer distance.
"Well this is my stop friends, and Cass, what's your address?"
"Cass don't-" Max pleads.
But I interrupt him.
"41 King Street!"
Garrett nods.
"I'll see ya at 6."
"See ya!"
Garrett crosses the street which leads to his house.
