I broke into a cold sweat as I ran down the hall, until I heard voices on the ground floor. I stopped in disbelief. Hope's sweet but serious little voice echoed in the kitchen, while another unknown, but female, tried to harness a loud laugh. I slowly crept close, trying not to be noticed and was in disbelief after the sight I saw. Arden and Hope were sitting and eating breakfast, while an older woman watched from the corner of her eye, working in the kitchen. "Mom didn't tell me we were going to visit you, Uncle Arden," Hope said calmly, looking at the serious Arden, who almost choked on his juice, not knowing what to say to my little girl. He obviously wasn't used to children, especially a direct one like my Hope, which put a smile on my face, who would have thought.... He coughed, still keeping a serious face. "This week mom and I are supposed to go on a picnic by the river," Hope said sadly, fixing her large gray eyes on Arden, who was watching her still emotionless. He suddenly got up from the table, to which Hope flinched, and I was cut in the stomach, not knowing what to expect, but then I was taken aback. Arden turned half way, flagging, "I'm sure it's doable while you and mom are here," his deep voice was calm. "Really? Well that great uncle Arden, you promise to guide us quickly, this week, please..." He nodded his head looking at Hope who immediately jumped up from her chair and ran towards him, hugging his leg, that's how could reach, given his appearance. He started in surprise but remained standing still. Hope let him go, extending her hand towards him: "pinky swear?, she asked him sweetly, and after a while he slowly extended his hand, in which Hope put her tiny hand, smiling. "You will have to practice pinky swear, but and this is the deal," she looked at him seriously. The muscles in Arden's face visibly tightened, and he gently pulled her hand away and headed out of the kitchen without a word.

I quickly ran into the kitchen, grabbing my little girl tightly in my arms. "Mommy," she exclaimed and giggled happily, and then I noticed a woman with dark hair and even darker eyes watching me with a smile. "Hello Luna, I'm Mia, Alpha's cook, now yours," she said humbly. "Please Mia, bet that Luna, just Emma," I laughed, holding out my hand to her. "But Alpha sternly said..." I quickly cut her off, raising my hand. " "While he's here, obey his orders because I know you have to, but when we're alone, you'll call me by my name, okay? "Yes, L.., Emma," she smiled sincerely. I didn't even manage to finish my breakfast when I saw her serious face. "Emma, Alpha wants you to come to his office now." I looked worriedly at Hope, who was still eating her cereal. "I'll keep an eye on her, don't worry," she said, looking at Hope lovingly, and I headed in the direction Arden had gone, not knowing where I was going, while a bad feeling followed me. Fortunately, at the end of the corridor I saw a beta, who nodded his head to me, greeting me. "Luna, Alpha is waiting for you", he said, opening the door of the office slightly, while I was still undecided on the side, and then I took a deep breath and entered. He was sitting at a massive mahogany table without looking up, pointing with his hand to the armchair in front of the table for me to sit down. Everything inside was the same color, I must admit it was neat and very beautiful, who would have thought, I thought again, maybe his whole soul is not black. He suddenly raised his head and looked at me questioningly, which cut me off, "You mean it?", he asked me coldly, making me blush. "I'd appreciate it if you'd get out of my head, Alpha," I said half angrily. I thought I saw a small smile at the corner of his lips. "I'm not in your head, yet," he looked at me piercingly, making my body tingle. "Arden, for you," he said quietly, when he leaned towards me, getting up from the table. Those silver eyes, so beautiful, and yet they evoked the worst memories in me, and I closed my eyes, asking him: "Why am I here?"

He turned, staring out the window, holding his hands behind his back. "Because you're my Mate and Luna," he answered thoughtfully. I laughed bitterly. As far as I remember, you said I was a whore and a weak omega, with a bastard, and that you didn't want me" I looked at him, trying to hold back tears. "But my wolf thinks otherwise," he turned, coming closer. "I don't care what your wolf or you need it, I hissed, but I will do anything to protect my child," I said quietly. "Whose child is it?" he asked me again, coming very close. I swallowed hard, my throat drying up and my breathing quickening. . I couldn't fight the fear of the past, and I had to think of Hope. Now was not the time to break down, or I don't know if I would recover. Suddenly I found myself pinned against the wall, his hands on my neck, but his his grip allowed me to breathe at least a little. "I'm asking you for the last time and I won't repeat myself," he growled. "No..., I can't tell you," I whispered. "Then you'll show me," his deep voice was menacing silent, when his strong body was next to mine, and his long and sharp teeth pierced my neck. The pain was terrible, but I didn't want to give him the pleasure of screaming, but with all that pain, I couldn't help but feel a strong sense of pleasure that filled me, especially when he pulled out his teeth and licked the wound on my neck. I was shaking when he grabbed my temples with his hands, staring deeply into me, his grip was getting stronger, while I was losing strength because of the memories from five years ago, which started to appear in my head like the pages of a book.
