After school, Zach was walking down the street of his neighborhood. He had been looking to invest some time in Saria, who honestly was his favourite. He had known her for the longest amount of time out of his crushes, and the two had been best friends for a while.
Before he could make it to Saria's house, he saw a boy dressed in a gray jacket with a girl in the schools uniform. When he turned around he saw Aaron and Samantha. A shocked expression grew on his face.
"Wow. He actually did something. He's walking her home. That's...weird."
He proceeded to follow the suspected couple from the shadows as they arrived at Samantha's. When he saw Aaron meet her mother, he let out a sigh of relief. His best friend finally caved into love. Maybe he would actually not always be reading, or could play a sport. He chuckled at that thought.
As Aaron's short conversation went on, Zach crept closer to to the cute 'couple'. When the door to her house closed, Zach wrapped one arm around his best friend.
"So how'd it go?" Without hesitation Aaron elbowed Zach in the stomach. As Zach walked behind his best friend he muttered "it was only a question."
Aaron explained how she had only gotten lost and how he had helped her home. When Zach remembered that he had given Samantha his phone number, he brought up the idea of inviting her and the other girls to Aaron's house to play video games.
"I just realized this, but were you following us?" Aaron asked.
Zach stuttered. "Well since we live in the same neighborhood I just saw you two pass by and... I gotta go!" Zach quickly ran away hoping Aaron didn't think he was a stalker.
When he eventually lost sight of his friend, he continued to walk to Saria's house. They had been paired together to work on a script for a play they have to direct in their drama class. When he knocked on the door to her house, she opened to door to reveal her wearing sweatpants and a "Marvel" t shirt.
"Oh, hey. What're you doing here?"
"Don't we have I work on the project for drama..." He asked, looking into her brown eyes.
"Oh um..." She turned to reveal a guy who looked about her age sitting on her couch. "Do you mind if we work some other-"
"Sure, sure." Zach said, cutting her off. "Let's try two days from now?"
"Yeah sure. Ok bye."
Before he could respond the door was shut in his face. He turned back and started walking home, his fist clenched.
"Well, at least she's happy." He muttered to himself. He gripped his chest as a sharp pain struck where his heart was.
"Right?"
