I was a small town girl, with big dreams, but no one knew that I had big dreams. Heck! No one even knows that I can sing! Like I said I am a small town girl working at a Dwight's Bar. I started to day dream about me moving to Los Angeles when one of the other girls I work with comes in.

"$16.50 for me, $16.50 for you.

"Loretta I'm leaving".I said

"What do you mean"? She says like she doesn't really care.

"As soon as I get my check I'm gone". I said with no energy.

After me and Loretta talked for awhile our boss finally walked out of the washroom.

"Wait, I need my check before you leave". I said as I hopped off the counter.

"Pay days at the end of the month". He says not even caring.

"But you still never paid us from last month, I need my money, Loretta gotta kid to take care of..." He cuts me off.

"Look if you have a problem with the management, put a note the the suggestion box". He says walking out of the bar.

"Dwayne I'm serious, I'm quitting! I said getting mad now".

"I'll be back for the dinner shift". Finally walks out.

"I sure as hell won't be"!

"What are you doing". Loretta ask looking over my shoulder as I take money out of the cash register.

"I'm only taking what he owes me, not a penny more". I said counting my money.

"You take that money he's gonna come after you"! Loretta says obviously concerned for me.

"He's gotta find me first".

"What are you gonna do"?

"This outta pay that bike you've been wanting to get for little Keith. You're also late to pick him up from school. Go! I got everything covered here".

"You really are going"?

"I'm really going".

"That bike can wait till Christmas. Keep what he owes you I'll deal with Dwayne". "See you later"?

And with that Loretta walks out.

As she is walking to her car I decide to close the bar an shut the blind and take my heels off and put them on the counter. I put acoin inside the jukebox and started to sing. Something Gotta Hold On Me.

Oh sometimes I get a good feeling ya

I get a feeling that I never, never had before no, no

I just gotta tell you now that I

I believe, I really do believe

Something got a hold on me yay

(Oh it must be love)

Oh, oh something gotta hold on me right know child

(Oh it must be love)

Let me tell you know,

I have a feeling it feels so strange

everything about me seams to have change

Step by step, I gotta brand new walk

I even sound sweeter when I talk

I said oh (oh)

Oh (oh)

Oh (oh)

I said baby, oh it must be love

(You know it must be love)

...

Yay, yay , yay, yay, oh

The song ends and I head home to pack up for Los Angeles.
