Prologue

April 1st, 20xx

In certain virtual battlefield inside a certain game, an intense battle royale currently on-air in livestream worldwide.

This mysterious yet engaging VR MMPROG game called DespairxDesperado Online or more known in gamers' community as DxD Online. This game combine both MMPROG that allows you communicate and build a party or guild inside the game as well as to experience a real VR game with just one equipment and unique fantasy world and an revolutionary power balance inside the game.

Despite not being an official game, the players in this game exceed one hundred million players worldwide. DxD Online has been hosting many interesting event and upload it online to showcases the intriguing and sophisticated game maneuvers and techniques of the players.

One of its' annual and obligatory event is Seasonal Battle Royale. This event gathered only top classed players in 'Survival in the Fittest' type of battle in order to determined the best player and the last winner will be rewarded a ticket to be a Golden Ranked members. It's a special places only for top 1 player in every job category inside the game.

Currently this annual Battle Royale is called Spring War:Kill or Be Killed. Just like the usual Battle Royale, this one required you to survive for 48 hours in-game or seven hours straight in real time in order to determined the last winner. Players are not allowed to build a party and and just relies on the individual skills.

In the midway of the event, many flashy battle of techniques and skill is happening in the air. Despite so, one certain player constantly stealing the spotlight before finally claimed the victory.

"Hey look! Are you for real?"

"No way! We definitely beat her just a moment ago, and yet she's still freaking alive and rocking hard!"

"Oh my God look at her movement! What kind of maneuver is that? Isn't she out of our league?"

"That's doesn't makes any sense at all!"

Many top-class gamers seem to cursing and express their dissatisfaction to a certain girl, with game ID 'Mayday'. She's one of Golden Ranked members that assigned to participate in Battle Royale. She's top 1 player in Healer position, and despite the disadvantage of Healer she's still winning the event effortlessly.

Normally the purpose of this event is to give a chance to the winner to enter Golden Ranked members. However the 'Administrators' will send one of Golden Ranked members to increase the difficulty of the event. And if someone managed to beat that member, then he/she will kicked out immediately.

That's why the Golden Ranked members that participated is not bound to just laze around and unfortunately he/she will be constantly attacked by many top-classed players in order to snatch the position in Golden Ranked.

However in Mayday's case, she's been inactive for three to four months ago and skipping many Obligatory Events which is like giving an impression that she's want to quit Golden Ranked members. However she's suddenly appear and stealing the spotlight in it, which infuriates the participants.

And since she's famous for helping many newbies players to leveling up and been constantly lending hand in many different party members and formation towards the dangerous and extremely difficult Hunting Ground, many players that associated with her quickly withdrew since they don't want to attack her.

The reasons between this is varied, some do it out of respect, some is due to out of gratitude, and some of them withdrawing out of fear since they recognized her exceptional skills and giving up right away.

That's why her victory this time is viewed with mixed response. And she's currently going on viral worldwide for it.

Despite many controversy behind her, it's clearly approves her as one of the best player ever in DxD aside of many legendary players.

However the success behind DxD Online will invite many troubles to the involved ones without any warning. And of course it would not be painless and easy. Just like a curse, this game bound to lead towards misfortune and bloody part in later story.

And just like the downfall of DxD Online is finally begins, some days later which is right after the epic comeback victory of Mayday is finally calming down, someone successfully revealed her true identity behind her game avatar. And this one create even more storm surpassing the former news about her. Mayday going viral in worldwide again twice!

And just like that, this story will begin now.
