You felt genuinely happy for your mom. You barely got to see her in such a good mood. This was definitely something you were going to remember, you just hoped nothing would mess up the meeting tomorrow

"...Wait...mom, aren't most of the Countryhumans attending that meeting?"

    "Yup."

"And... employees are aloud to bring, family...?"

    "...Yes..."

    You froze.

    "...Kill me."

If the Countryhumans were going to be there, that meant Great Britain would be attending. And since the workers would be bringing their families, that would mean America would be coming with him. To be exact same meeting you were going to.

This was going to be good.

"I'm not going to the meeting mom. I just can't."

Your mother sighed, "It's alright (Y/N), I understand. I wouldn't want you to be uncomfortable going there."

You sat beside your mother on the foot of your bed. It had been a bit since you arrived home from school, and your head was finally cleared from any thoughts of America.

You declined your mom's offer for the meeting, which had shocked her due to the casual answer you gave her before. However, she understood your reasoning, and didn't blame you.

BYet, a pang of guilt went through your heart when you saw the disappointment in her eyes. You didn't want to let her down. She had finally achieved something, and you wanted to embrace it. You were proud of her for her constant hard work.

You considered accepting her offer. You didn't want to put her efforts in vein due to your personal feelings. It just wouldn't sit right with you if you let her go alone.

    So, you changed your mind.

    "Mom...I'll go to the meeting."

"Are you sure, (Y/N)? You just said—"

"I know what I said. But...I just can't let you go alone. This is important to you, your job is important to you. I shouldn't let my personal opinions get in the way of that. And besides, meeting your co-workers and boss could improve my mindset and yours. So... I'll go...for you."

She smiled, "I'm proud of you (Y/N). I know getting out of your comfort zone is hard, but it's what helps us grow. And I'm happy that you're willing to improve."

You wrapped her in a hug, burying your head into her neck, "I love you mom."

She hugged you back with a firm yet gentle grip. It was the affection of a loving mother.

    "I love you to angel."
