The large creature stalked quietly down the alley towards it's prey, calmly and carefully sticking to the shadows and making no sound. The prey, a man in his late thirties to early forties was just locking up for the night. The giant wolf could hear him softly humming to himself.
The wolf flicked it's tail in anticipation as the man turned away from the door and tried to shove the keys back into the pocket of his grey and brown tweed jacket. They fell out of his hand and dropped to the ground, jingling on the cracked pavement.
The man bent down and picked them up, dusting them off and slipping them successfully into his pocket. The wolf crouched, growling. Hearing it, the man jerked his head up just in time to see the creature hurl itself at him.
The man screamed and tried to push the great dog off, but to no avail. He screamed again as he felt the animal sink it's teeth into his leg and began to pull him down the alley.
"Help me! Somebody, anybody! Heeeelp!!" the man shouted as he was dragged across the filthy ground past the dumpster and into the darkness.
No one answered.

"The footage you have just witnessed was taken from a security camera located near one of last month's attacks." the reporter informed, a look of deadpan seriousness on his features. "The victim, a Mr. Eugene Banks, sustained injuries that might have been life-threatening, had they not been treated as early as they had been. He is expected to survive."Authorities are still combing the city in search of this wolf that has been terrorizing our city since March. Experts have identified it as a grey wolf, yet, are still contemplating as to how one found it's way into New York and how one of this species could get so large.
Hear more on this story during our evening broadcast. Back to you Tom." The shot switched back to the head reporter sitting at a desk.
"Thanks Steve." Tom turned back to the camera. "Remember that-" Shredder leaned in and hit the power button on the small portable television, switching it off. He turned to Stockman, expectant.
"Well?"
"It's possible." the scientist said as he turned away from the t.v. and walked over to a table with scientific equipment scattered across it.
"Possible? I'm telling you, that thing is a mutant!" Shredder exclaimed angrily. "If Bebop and Rocksteady could stay focused long enough to track it to it's den-"
"It is simply an oversized canine." Stockman pointed out, picking up a device and studying it. "What in the world could we possibly use it for?"
"I suspect it to be more than just a normal wolf." Shredder replied. "No regular animal would be able to do some of the things it has achieved."
"Like what?" the scientist asked sarcastically, "What has it possibly done that is so extraordinary that has caught your attention? Or have you simply become so desperate that you are willing to try something as idiotic as this?"
"It has broken into places surrounded by fences much too high for even an animal it's size to climb. It has shown a higher intelligence than any normal subject of it's species has ever had and it shares some similarities not only with that of a common grey wolf, but also those of a species that have been extinct for thousands of years now." the villain answered. "Besides, I have already sent Bebop and Rocksteady out after it." Stockman rounded on him.
"What?!" he shouted. "What do you think-"
At that moment two mutants, a warthog-human mix and a rhino-human mix entered the chamber. Both were dressed in clothing reminiscent of their human street gang days.
The warthog, Bebop, was dressed in a pair of black jeans and an open orange vest that showed off his bare hairy chest. A pair of shoulder pads covered his shoulders and a pair of worn out red and white tennis shoes covered his feet. The remaining of his human hair was styled into a ridiculous purple Mohawk that ended in a short ponytail.
Rocksteady, the rhinoceros, wore a bright yellow muscle shirt with two machine gun belts crisscrossing over his chest. For pants he wore a pair of light brown cargos and for shoes he wore black combat boots. He was bald.
"Well?" the Shredder asked eagerly.
"Found 'er, boss." Bebop grunted. "Followed the big thing straight to a-"
"Her?" Shredder interrupted. "It's female?"
"Yeah." Rocksteady answered, "Not a bad piece of work either." At this he nudged Bebop in the ribs and they laughed.
"Shut up!" Shredder ordered. The two boneheaded mutants immediately stopped.
"You have them trained, Shredder." Stockman voiced behind him. The blade-covered villain suppressed his frustration.
"You said you followed it - her," he corrected himself, "Where did, she, go?"
"To the back of some apartment building. Somethin' strange started to happen, like it was gonna sick or somethin' and it then it changed into a girl. She just layed there, curled up and knocked out. Like she'd been asleep." Bebop explained. Shredder turned to the brain.
"I told you it was more than a stupid dog." he gloated. Stockman rolled his eyes and turned back to the table with out saying anything. Shredder turned to his two goons.
" Go back and see if she's still there. If she isn't then wait at both the front and back entrances and see if she comes out." he ordered. "Follow her till you get somewhere secluded, where no one can see you. Then bring her to me."
Bebop and Rocksteady grinned. Then they hurried out of the hideout and back to where they had left their quarry.
