Maya & Arjun

Chapter 1

It is just another regular day for Maya, lying on her bed after class thinking about life. Maya thinks that she has everything sorted in her life except for one thing, finding a life partner. 

For whatever reason, she keeps on finding herself drawn to that one person that doesn't even know her existence, and that guy is none other than Arjun. 

You all must be wondering, how does Maya know Arjun if he has no idea of her existence? Well Arjun is an alumni in Maya's university and he has visited the college once during their open day and Maya was a first year student at that point of time. Ever since then, Maya has been crushing on Arjun. 

It has been two years now and Maya's feeling for Arjun has never faded, but unfortunately for Maya, Arjun already has a girlfriend and she got to know about it later on through his instagram. Maya was just scrolling at his profile, wondering why she was so drawn to this man. 

That is when Maya's best friend Anu came into her room and snatched her phone. "Anu give me my phone back!" Maya said in a very annoyed tone. "How long are you just going to stare at his profile, this has to come to an end Maya"

And just like that Anu hit the follow button on Arjun's profile. Anu had Maya's phone hidden from her the entire day and she returned it back to her at night. When May saw Arjun's profile, he had already blocked her. Maya had no idea why her heart hurt so bad at the sight of it. It was not like they were friends or anything, Maya felt rejected by someone who she doesn't even know or more like didn't get the chance to know.

Maya tossed and turned in bed, her thoughts consumed by Arjun and the rejection she felt from being blocked on Instagram. She couldn't understand why his actions affected her so deeply, especially since they were essentially strangers to each other.

Arjun sat across from Geetha in the cozy restaurant taking in the ambiance as he was waiting for their meal.

Geetha, fidgeting with her phone, suddenly spoke up. "Arjun, can I see your phone for a moment? Mine seems to have died."

Arjun nodded, handing over his phone without much thought. Geetha scrolled through his Instagram feed, seemingly engrossed in whatever she was looking at. She saw a beautiful lady named 'Maya_16' to have followed him on instagram, with a smirk on her face she blocked her profile.

Moments later, Geetha handed the phone back to Arjun with a satisfied smile. "Thanks, babe. Sorry for the interruption."

Arjun shrugged, not paying much attention to what had happened. "No problem. Is everything alright?"

Geetha nodded, her smile widening. "Everything's perfect, especially with you here."

Little did he know, Maya's presence in his online world had caused ripples of confusion and hurt. But for now, Arjun remained blissfully unaware, enjoying the evening with Geetha by his side.

As Maya drifted off to sleep, her mind still lingering on thoughts of Arjun, his image began to weave its way into her dreams. 'I would never want to meet him ever again in my life' Maya thought to herself.
