Five boys, each with their own individual pain. Each with their own burden.
They meet each other as children at the StarLight festival in celebration of The Star. They, make a promise to The Star. They promise to stay together forever, but the five boys soon forget their promise and drift apart. With this broken promise, The Star drifts into sleep and cannot awake until the boys renew their promise once again. However, it's not that easy anymore.
Magic Island, a land where your dreams manifest into reality.
Your nightmares are no exception, but of course the boys don't understand that, yet. Our journey starts here, in this Magic Island. . When the boys first met they found this Island and they stayed there as long as they could. All you had to do was close your eyes and dream. When they parted, they stayed in Magic Island but with no memory of each other. Each became more isolated and angry, which is what caused their pains to become physically real. Do they even realize the world they're in right now is a dream world? They keep on living their days outcasted in this place longing for a companion, and The Star lays asleep longing for the boys to reunite once again. But when they finally do find each other, will that make their journey any easier? Can they really ever escape the chaos?
The first of these boys is Eu. He believes he's a monster, he believes he's guilty. This is where his pain comes from. His throat, or more specifically, his voice. What he's said and done made him a monster. He grew horns, antler-like horns which stick out from his head. His nightmare became real. His horns signify that he is now truly a monster. A constant prompt of the thing that he fears most. He's lonely and full of despair. In need of saving. But as of right now, there's no one.
The second of these boys is Soule. His pain comes from his ear. He hears, but they don't hear him. He is also lonely. This is something all five boys share. Loneliness. Completely and utterly alone and casted out from society left only with their pain. Soule's pain manifests into giant pointy ears. A reminder of what haunts him.
The third is Viken. Viken's pain is in his shoulder. He burdens himself. All the weight is on him. He carries everything. Viken's pain takes the form of spikes on his shoulder not only showing him that he can't run from his despair but keeping everyone away so he will always remain alone. No one can get close. So, he stays alone and his resentment grows day by day.
Taho is the fourth. His pain is held in his eye. In Magic Island, his left eye turns black with a silver star in the middle. A distracting deterrent that reminds everyone of his wit. His eye sees all, he always looks for the clue, and he will always find the answer. No matter what it takes. No matter what he has to do, he'll do what he thinks is right. But does it count for anything if his quest to do what's right causes everything to fall apart.
The last of the five is Avys. Who's pain lies in his heart. Just like the four before him, he's lonely and full of resentment and despair. His heart aches. Avys, who's pain manifests itself into angel wings, is seen as a savior. However, he thinks of himself as anything but. All five have pain which stems from their loneliness, but their pain becomes much more real in this island that they themselves created in hopes of running away. They quickly learn that no matter how fast you run, you can't ever really escape chaos.
Eu, is sitting on his own in the cold darkness of the night. Of course, due to the manifestations of Magic Island, his antler horns are sitting steadily on his head. Ridiculed and made fun of for being a monster, he seeks someone, anyone. He doesn't remember his friends, none of them remember each other. When they broke their promise to The Star, their memories disappeared and they grew up having no idea that they had ever met. Eu, tired of sitting and waiting, went off in search of something, or someone. He didn't know where he was going, but he kept walking forward, desperate. He encounters a large shadow and when he gets a better view he notices that the shadow turns into a large black cat. The cat had silky fur and two different colored eyes that were glowing, one blue, one green. Eu felt drawn to the cat, though its aura was very intimidating, almost menacing. The cat did not speak, but when Eu encountered it he noticed his pain grew. His throat hurt more and more till he couldn't take it. What was happening, was it the cat that was doing this? A slit appears straight along his throat adding to his collection of accessories. He runs away and he keeps going until he physically can't anymore. He stops in what looks like a meadow, but with no flowers. He was sitting in the middle of a circle shape made by the trees that surrounded him. He doesn't know what to do. He was lonely again. On top of that, his pains were stronger now than ever before. His resentment, anger, and sadness were in full play and he didn't know what to do anymore. He heard something far away. He feels his pain slowly fading as a light grows stronger in the distance. Someone is coming closer. Could this be the salvation he was looking for. Someone reaches their hand out. Maybe this is his chance. Maybe this is what he was waiting for, the person who can make all the pain fade away forever. Just as Eu thought this, three more presences came into his view. What was this feeling, it's something he's felt before. It's so familiar. Eu doesn't understand, but he doesn't care. His pain will be gone, he knows it will be.
On a gold pedestal almost displayed like a trophy, a boy is present. Avys. He sits there and wonders why he was forsaken. His angel wings are long and span out a few feet to his sides. Day in and day out he sits alone with only the view in front of him and the pain in his heart grows more persistent. He looks out into the meadow he sits in. The grass is white and the trees bright purple like the sky above them. The trees surrounded the meadow in a circular shape almost as if they were setting a stage or putting on a show. Although the stage is set, no one appears before him. Just as he was finishing his thought, a boy did appear. Avys noticed the boy was running and out of breath. He also had huge antlers like a deer as well as a bright red slit on his throat, but Avys didn't care about this boy's features. Avys found someone. After sitting on his pedestal for so long, someone appears before him. It was fate, or destiny. Avys starts to get a weird feeling, almost as if he knows this boy with horns. He knows that this is someone important, he can feel it. Avys gets up and walks up to the boy on the ground and reaches out his hand. As the antler headed boy grabs Avys' hand, his heart grows more still and his pain is quiet. Avys, puzzled, can't figure out who this boy is, or more importantly, why this boy is so important. He doesn't care why though, all he knows is that for the first time, he's not alone anymore. Before the boy could get up from the ground Avys noticed three silhouettes becoming clearer. "I know them too, I can feel it," he thinks. This familiar feeling is one he hasn't felt in a long time. He needs this feeling to stay. He can't let it run out.
The meeting of Avys and Eu sparks something in them all.
The Other three, Soule, Viken, and Taho are compelled to go to the meadow. The closer they get, their pain fades. Physically they are still riddled with their individual reminders of the pain they hold. Soule's ears, Viken's spikes, and Taho's eye. However, when they come together they know something will be different for them now. They have hope. Now that they are together, their hope grows as their pains fade away, but is that hope gonna last forever? They don't think about the future, instead they try to recall the past. They don't know how, but they know that they've met before; they can sense that they were meant to be together. All of them. They all have one dream and together, under that one dream, they can build a new tomorrow where everyone will be happy and free. They can leave magic Island and turn it back into their dream land that helps them escape their reality. Instead of being trapped they can return and exit when they want and keep their Island alive. If only it were that easy though.
When the boys left their dream world, they found themselves going in and out of reality, this time however, they weren't alone. They had each other. One way they could get to Magic island was on a train that took them there, but in using this method they had to follow a rule. When entering Magic Island, they had to shut their eyes and no matter what they couldn't open them until they reached the other side. This was the only rule and breaking it can lead to catastrophic consequences. In this moment of crucial judgment, will the boys make the wise decision?
