I wake up to Kid's sweet and pleasant voice, shouting like a madman at someone.

Ever since we got back from the ball, he's been in a bad mood, although I can't blame him. In the end, we had to use the balcony to flee and leave empty-handed. We were so close to getting something...

Why the hell did the marines show up looking for us?

As much as I go over everything we did that night, I can't think of a single reason. Strangely enough, I know it wasn't Kid's fault this time, or at least I rather doubt it. Ever since I agreed to approach [Yn], he made an effort to speak in a calm voice and not do anything that would draw attention to himself.

I was quietly on the balcony talking to [Yn] when suddenly there began to be more noise inside. The whispering, which had previously created an acceptable buzz, increased in intensity and became unbearable. Gradually, people became agitated and replaced the whispers with disgusted gasps or small muffled cries.

Just as I was beginning to wonder if my crewmates had done something, Kid appeared on the terrace with Heat and Wire on his back. He looked nervous, although I could see a glint of amusement in his eyes when he saw me take my hand away from [Yn]'s cheek. I don't even remember how I ended up so close to her or what we were talking about.

"You, Romeo!" At least he had the sense not to use my real name. "We need to go!"

I straightened up and took a quick glance into the hall behind him.

Inside, the marines were talking to [Yn]'s father and the man who frightened her. While the latter spoke seriously while gesturing toward the guests, the host seemed to be trying his best to convince the marines to leave. Apparently, he cared more about saving face than anything else that could happen at his party.

The marine he was talking to looked annoyed. At one point, in response to his constant complaining, he pulled some wanted posters out of his jacket and shoved them at him in a rude manner. He almost put them in his mouth.

Upon seeing the first poster, [Yn]'s father's eyes widened in surprise and his face paled. He mumbled something and turned around hurriedly. He soon reached the top of the stairs and disappeared down a nearby hallway, never once stopping to look behind him.

I couldn't help but feel disgusted. He hadn't even tried to find his daughter.

Apparently, her father was not better than mine.

Taking advantage of the fact that [Yn] had stepped back to give us some privacy, Wire lowered his voice and confirmed my suspicions:

"They are ours; he was carrying them in his pocket when they came in, and I could see the captain on the first one."

I nodded, fully aware of what that meant. Somehow, they knew we were there. I looked around the room once more, and my eyes met those of [Yn]'s stalker, who was now pointing at us.

We had to flee before they found us and resume the map search at another time.

Motioning toward the marines, I asked my companions to let me know if they made any strange movements as I bid farewell to my little noblewoman. Kid clicked his tongue but nodded, urging me to hurry.

I quickly approached her again. It would be rude of me to leave without saying anything. Although I didn't know why, I wanted to leave a good impression. Maybe we will meet again at some point.

After all, we still needed the map, so she could still be of help.

When I reached her side, she stared into my eyes and spoke before I could say anything:
