My Big Brothers Ex Girlfriend

The last time I had been back here was Christmas, it was now 7 months later and here we are again. I know I should have have come home earlier, after Christmas things got harder to watch
Riley was getting on with her life like we had barely existed while I still lingered on every last second we got together
When I told her, it had always been her, that it was always meant to be her, I meant it..
I don't think I could even imagine myself with someone else
But I knew it was only a matter of time before she found someone else 

So I gave her the space to do just that..
I knew if I kept coming back, she wouldn't stand a chance, I knew she wouldn't keep her end of the deal

As soon as I walked through the door, I wasn't greeted by anything. No noise at all except the silent hum of some of the electricals in the house
"Hello?" I called only to see the same dorky face that I had grown up with
"Look who decided to come home!" Kyle called making me chuckle

"So you didn't die then" He asked coming over doing our usual exchange
"No I didn't freaking die, where is everyone? I thought they would all be home?" I asked but Kyle shook his head

"Had we known you were home early, then we would have been but Riley's final showcase is tonight, Piper is at practice and Mum is with Richard preparing for tomorrow" Kyle said 

Tomorrow.. The day both Kyle and Riley graduate, the same day the pair have been waiting for, for as long as I can remember
Part of me is curious on what they plan to do after school. It was always written in stone that they would end up in the same college.. but part of me had hoped Riley would follow me to my college
But I don't think that's an option anymore

"Actually, I'm about to go meet Piper at the studio to watch Riley's rehearsal before the show tonight. We won't actually get to see her until afterwards" He warned me
"Do you want to come with? I bet you'll get a better reunion with Pipes anyway" He warned me making me roll my eyes before shrugging

"James!" Piper squealed the moment she walked out of practice. I smiled engulfing her into a hug as soon as she was close enough
"Look at your Pipesqueak, you grew almost half a foot" I teased making her roll her eyes at me

"Your back early! I thought you didn't get in until next week?" Piper asked as we all started to follow Kyle to the gallery overlooking most of the studios

"Well I couldn't miss someone's graduation now could I" I said offering her a smile which turned her smile into a smirk
"Kyle's? Or Riley's?" She asked in a whisper so only I could hear as we all took a seat on one of the benches

"Everyone one is in here but Riley?" Kyle said looking over at Piper who nodded
"Of course that's the case Kyle, you know how nostalgic Riley gets. She's probably reminiscing" I said making Kyle raise a brow before nodding his head
"I guess that is true" He said before Piper chuckled
"She's there Kyle" Piper said pointing to another studio where Riley was in the middle of dancing 

It felt like forever since I had last seen Riley dance, it was different this time too. There was something more to it then usual 
To say she'd grown into her dancing would be an understatement 

This studio though, it was the first place Riley and I had ever danced together, we were maybe 10 at the time? her partner had bailed so mum made me help her seeing as Kyle was born with two left feet
After that, anytime we wanted to dance.. it was always in this studio 

"There you are!" A voice said making me look down to see a small blonde around Kyle and Riley's age walk into the room
"Hey Cass" Riley laughed turning to look at the girl
"We are meant to be practicing next door, what are you doing in here? God I don't think I've ever been in this studio" She said looking around making Riley roll her eyes 

"You wouldn't have. You have been here for just over a year Cassidy, this room is used more for the children's classes" Riley answered
"then why are you in here?" Cassidy asked
"One last trip down memory lane I guess" Riley shrugged grabbing her things as the pair walked out of the room 

It wasn't long until the girls were next door in the following studio where everyone else was, for being the 'Seniors' there were quite a lot of them
"Let's run through Dylan and Riley's number first seeing as Dylan has to run off before we perform" Cassidy said making Riley and a tall brunette who stood next to her nod 

Dylan..

Why does that name sound familiar?

"Eh it was alright" Piper said making me raise a brow at her
"I could name a better dance partner Riley's had in the past" Piper said making me roll my eyes at her
"Yeah, Darren earlier this year was good" Kyle said

"I wasn't talking about Darren you idiot" Piper said
"God Piper, I go away to college and come back to a feisty Pipes? What the hell happened?" I asked 

"She started her period, that's what happened" Kyle said making Piper glare at him
"I grew up you dork, my period has nothing to do with it" She said 

"That's my nickname for him" I laughed
"Yeah and I can see why you gave it to him" Piper huffed making my burst out laughing

Dare I say that I may have actually missed my siblings?
