Luckily for me, the rest of my day was uneventful, I was able to get through the rest of my classes with ease, although I hate to admit, and only because I can just hear Bey saying I told you so in my head, I was starving, but I still refused to give her the benefit of the doubt. I still had the chips and water Lamman gave me, and that held me over until school was out, after which I quickly grabbed my bags and rushed to Lamman's car before Bey could get to me.
Throughout the day I would periodically check my phone and every time I did I had more messages from Bey than the last time. I would quickly skim them, they were a range of apology texts, please talk to me texts, a few meet me in the bathroom texts, and my personal favorite, what my baby doing texts.
Studying for the bar. What you think he's doing? Other than swimming around in his amniotic sac.
Once the bell rang I didn't even bother going to my locker, I just went straight to Mani's car, because I knew Bey would be posted at my locker, and where there's smoke, there's fire, and this particular fire was named Onika. I knew if she saw her trying to talk to me that would raise all kinds of hell so I just decided to forgo going to my locker altogether to avoid anymore drama. If I want to talk to Bey, I'll talk to her in the comfort of our home, where it's just me and her and no one else but Mama T and Solo.
Once I got in Mani's car I immediately started it up and turned on the a/c because it was hot as all hell out here today. I wasn't even outside three minutes and I was already sweating in uncomfortable places. I was glad that most of my pregnancy would be during the colder seasons because after a day like today I would have been absolutely miserable if I had to be pregnant during the hot seasons. I had already asked Mama Tina for permission to go over Lamman's and she had granted it with the promise to be home before 10, but I knew I would be back way before then because being pregnant meant I was tired a lot, and these days I was in the bed by 9, whether I wanted to be asleep by then or not. While I waited for Lamman I decided to finally answer some of Bey's texts so I could at least so I could let her know to go home and stop waiting for me. As soon as I unlocked my phone I was welcomed by a slurry of incoming new texts.
Pook: Tink Wya
Pook: I'm at your locker, waiting on you.
Pook: I just know you did not leave already.
Tink: I actually did, sorry Pookie 😞
Pook: IKYFL, bruh. Tink stop playing with me, where are you?
Tink: What I tell you earlier? In my skin, when I jump out, you jump in
Pook: I'm trying to jump in your skin, but you won't let me cause you keep playing games.
Tink: I'm not actually, I'm just minding my own business trying to keep the peace, and you shouldn't be worrying about jumping in my skin, you need to be trying to jump in Onika's. The way she was acting today you must not be up her ass enough for her liking. I'm not going back in there Bey, meeting you at my locker is only gonna stir up some more shit I don't have time for. Go home Giselle, I'll see you later.
Pook: 😩😩😩You're mad at me
Tink: And why do you think that?
Pook: I don' t think that, I know that. You called me by my middle name and that's all you've been calling me today. Why you still mad at me Mimi I said I was sorry!
Tink: I don't know why, you're not the one I'm mad at, although I am mad at you for Letting your girl come at me like that and you didn't do shit to stop her. You just got on to me instead, and frankly I didn't appreciate that, because I didn't do shit to you or her but defend myself. So... I guess I am mad at you, cause you hurt my feelings. You didn't stick up for me Bey 😕😞
