"..... I'm telling you this one will be a hit."

"I don't care about the producers if I have to I'll work by myself."

"It's a good story, I promise."

"Dad?" I called out.

"Yes, in here." My dad, Mark, replied.

"You still trying?" I questioned, placing my mug on his desk, which was full of sketches and crumpled up paper. My dad and uncle had a passion for storytelling, they were working on a comic, so that they could, hopefully make a movie. People must not like the 80's because.. well, let's just say it was not working in their favor...

"Of course, Stephanie. My brother and I did not spend 6 years of our life writing a book just so it doesn't sell." He stated, angrily.

"Yeah, you're right. I just, I see you worked up over this all the time, It makes me sad." I whispered, not maintaining eye contact.

To be honest, I hadn't read it myself. Not because I did not want to, just because I wasn't really a fan of comics..

My dad exited my room as he pressed call on his phone, to call another producer is my guess. 'I need to be a more supportive daughter' I thought as i picked up the comic laying on my dad's desk. I headed upstairs to my room and played some music. I flipped through the pages and began to read, not knowing the risk I was taking.

"The upside down huh?" I read out loud. I never knew my dad had such a creative mind. A couple of 11 year old kids look for their missing friend, discovering a world far beneath their reach.

"Mind... Mind Flayer?.." I read once more.

Suddenly, drops of rain started pouring harshly against my window. "Well, there goes my peace." I huffed, letting the book fall on my night table. I cuddled up on my pillow and closed my eyes.

'I love rainy days..'
