I sit down slamming the car door shut behind me, Leaving my old life, house and friends in the small state of Georgia.
Hi I'm Alex, you don't need to know my last name but that's not the point. I'm leaving the place I love for good. I forgot to mention that me and my parents don't have a stable relationship which is to why i am moving out already at the age of 18 and i don't want to have anything to do with them so i made the decision to move from the USA (where my parents and i moved when i was about 14 but i wanted to go back to my home , the UK.oh god i miss it back there except i do have to say the food here in america is way better only because of the cheeky little things like Cheetos and goldfish. I still have quite a strong bristolian accent so at least i won't be made fun of that much.
I can hear the satisfying sound of the seatbelt click as I put my foot onto the gas and suddenly feel free from the hell hole. This is my favourite part of leaving: the tunnels on the way to the airport; even though I am driving it makes me feel young again. After ages of traffic and waiting I can finally see the control tower which obviously means that I am close. I unclip my seatbelt and get ready to leave whilst checking if i have all my belongings with me - i don't really own that much to be honest since my parents threw most of the 'garbage' out. Anyways the main reason I'm going to Bristol is because I got accepted into an amazing university and my parents said I can have the old house which is super close.
Before getting onto the plane everyone has to take a covid test and weigh their overhead baggage for obvious reasons. I'm all ok so i get to board onto the plane, i take out my ticket to see that it says first class?! I bought economy. I guess they must have liked me a lot to bump me up? Oh well I'm definitely not mad about it so it's ok. I find my seat all to myself without having to touch shoulders with a random person! Oh my i'm really lucky because the seats TURN INTO BEDS!!! Wow, I have really high hopes for this chapter of my life.
I take one step out of the plane and smell the beautiful fresh air of England. Oh gosh this brings back memories, i don't understand why we ever left. I get into the airport and rush over to GREGS, the best bakery in the whole of the United kingdom. After I had my scrumdiddlyumptious sausage roll I found my hire car and strapped myself in. oh sugar i totally forgot that in England you drive on the left hand side of the road. It's kinda hard to get used to to be honest. Anyways i get to my apartment and unpack my things one by one judging if i really needed them or if i just didn't want my parents to know if i had them or not. But I ended up throwing a lot of stuff away. I know this place is tiny but it's my new home or at least what I think of it as. The house is quite small but i love it and now that i think of it, it is very unusual to live in an apartment in England when living in a house in the usa is weird. I keep on getting side tracked from my story but anyways, I live super close to the McDonald's nearby which is only a 5 minutes walk from there to my college and university.
My first day of school (i'm just gonna call it that from now on)
I entered the classroom. Everyone looked at me. I found my seat in the back away from everyone, but there was this one girl. She was so stunning I felt like my eyes were shaped like hearts. Her hair is so long and brunette which is just (AHHH she's so pretty) she has beautiful green eyes with the cutest smile in the whole worlddddddd i would die for her. I instantly knew I had the fattest crush on her since I couldn't keep my eyes off of her. I mean I'm not that bad looking of a guy my age plus compared to this class I am fit. I have blue eyes, my hair is a sort of middle part curtain bangs kind of thing. I'll show you a photo.

It looks abit like that. But it has a dark red kind of tint in it. So I mean I'm fairly attractive compared to Jesse (that's the girl I fancy). I tried to focus but I couldn't keep my eyes off of her until she said, "watcha looking at a big guy?" I do work out at the gym plus I'm pretty tall so she isn't wrong but I've finally noticed that about me. She gave me the butterflies so quickly it's unbelievable. I was kind of hoping that she was in my next lesson so I could get her number but I also wanted to learn something in my next lesson (they're only half an hour long for each). I check my timetable, COOKING YES I LOVE COOKING. I am pretty sure she's cooking too. Oh my gosh just imagine we are partners. That would be my dream!
I walk in and she's there. I get my food out as we are sorted into groups. "Jesse, jasper,chloe and..'' I hope it's me! "Alex." OHH YES LET'S GO! We are making cupcakes today and whichever group can make the best batch look and taste will get a free lunch. I mean that's a bargain. I have the awesome idea of cookie monster cupcakes where we cut out a bit in the cupcake and fill it up with oreo buttercream and then ice it blue with eyes and cookies. Everyone agreed on my idea and they turned out perfect and we won. I went back to my apartment just to find out that I will be moving into a dorm at school but I don't know who's gonna be in my room yet but thank goodness I haven't unpacked yet otherwise I'd be screwed.
I got to the front office and was given a keycard and a set of keys and spare keys for my room which has three other people in it. It could be men or women . God I hope it's Jesse. I take my first steps into where I will be staying for the next couple of years just to see a flabby boy without a top on screaming and jumping around the couches. But at least Jasper was there, he showed me to my room where there's an empty bunk bed with a desk chair and PC monitor on it, opposite the desk is the toilet with a shower and on the other side of the bunk bed there is an empty wardrobe for my things. I was unpacking my clothes into the wardrobe as i hear "shut up Danny and put your shirt on.'' It was a feminine voice coming from the living room. Could it be? No it couldn't? I walk in to introduce myself to everyone who I would be staying with for the next 2 years of my life. "Hey I'm Alex and I came from the USA don't worry though because I am actually English and I don't have an American accent." I looked around to see everyone else, "You already know who i am also by the way, it's movie night tonight so be prepared." coming from Jasper. "OMG hi Alex it's me Jesse, I'm so excited that we will be living together!", "hey im-" "shut up Danny." shouted Jasper, "no one needs to know who you are."
In the morning i remembered about my dog Thor who i had left in my apartment! I hop onto my motorbike and ride as fast as I can to my apartment building, just to find him sitting there with puppy dog eyes at the door waiting patiently for me since I had told him to be a good boy and wait for me. I feel so bad :/. Anyways I attached a basket to the front of my motor bike and sat him in there as I rode down the street looking like an idiot with a basket on my motorbike.
I got back to uni as I made my way through the front desk area just to end up having a fight with the desk lady about Thor. After about what felt like an hour of arguing I was allowed to keep him but if anything happened to him it was my fault and I had to take full responsibility and take the blame for whatever he did around the school. As I took him up and into my room I showed him to my roommates just to make sure that they were ok with him staying here when Danny said, "I am scared of dogs so don't let that THING come anywhere near me!" "He has a name by the way and it is Thor!" said Jesse, sticking up for me. Oh my gosh I can't explain how much I love this girl and that I want to be with her forever since she's amazing, beautiful, smart, funny and always does the right thing in a certain situation. I can already imagine us being together in the future, coming back from lessons.
