Time passed as the 3rd and 4th periods ended. I waited for the bird to come back, but it didn't. I was only slightly peeved. By now, it was time for lunch.
As I walked into the cafeteria and towards the lunch line, I looked over the table I usually sit at and I saw my brother.
Oh great, I dreadfully think to myself, it's that time of week again. There's always a time of week when my brother decides to sit with me at my table to prove he's a good sibling. It's rather unconventional for me, honestly.
I got my lunch and walked over to the table, trying to ignore the fact that my brother was laughing.
"What?" I asked him, obviously confused with his wheezing.
"Nothing, just something my friend sent me," he said, finally calming down.
"You sound and look like a dork." I said obviously making fun of his looks.
"Yeah, well that means you look like one, too." Ok, he's making fun of me now.
He was blonder than me only by a little, which I was fine with, because I'm not fond of blond hair. We had the same sky blue eyes and a small collection of freckles gathered around our noses. His hair was short and messy. I had mid-length, messy hair. It seemed that our only other difference was our hobbies.
My brother, being the weirdo he is, likes to ride a skateboard and go to concerts with his friends. I, on the other hand, like to write small stories and poetry. We're polar opposites, but at the same time, we're so alike, it kinda scares me sometimes.
"Anyways, I have something to tell you." I said, annoyed at his comment. "What?" he asked. I explained to him about how I saw the eagle and that it was pretty huge.
"Well, it doesn't sound like any bird I've ever heard of." Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that he's a huge bird nerd. It's not something that goes with the rest of his personality, so it's kinda like the odd one out. I think that's the best way to describe it.
"You're sure?" I asked, scared for my sanity at this point.
"Yep." he said, more than assured in what he said. "Okay, then. What do I do now? I mean, it's not like I can just go outside and look for the thing. I don't know where it is now." I said, taking a bite of meatloaf between each sentence.
He thought to himself for a second before replying, "Well, you said you saw in math, right? Well, let's go back after school and check the area. There has to be something leftover from its visit."
"Alright, then. Sounds like a plan." I said with a small smile.
"Great!" He had this huge dorkish smile on his face that told me he was really looking forward to our excursion. Oh well, guess I can't refuse now, can I?
By the end of the day, I was completely burnt out, especially after gym class. But I was still ready to go on an adventure.
