Dad Shellington

Name Picking

When the loud singing was heard, confusion spread. Captain Barnacles pressed the oct-alert to gather the crew and ask if anyone knew what was happening. Almost everyone arrived.. except for Shellington

"Shellington? Are you alright?" Dashi asked. They could hear the singing and chirping. Worried panned on all of them and they dash toward the lab. The door was shut and immediately Tweak opens it.

There Shellington lied on the ground with little creatures around him. Some jumping up and down on him, some were running around and two was latched onto him. Shellington appeared to be asleep.

"Uh.. Shellington?" Barnacles coughed loudly. It awoke the sea otter and he sat up, the creatures stop doing whatever they were and crowd around the Captain. Beside the yellow one, it stuck to Shellington.

"What are these?" Dashi asked as some jumped on her. Professor Inkling stared at the creature as they climbed on his chair.

"You know those eggs I've been studying.. they just hatched. I called them Vegimals. They look like vegetable but they're animals."

"you called them like Veggie fishes." Tweak mumbled but smiled. "They are pretty cute."

"Do they have names?" Barnacles asked. The yellow Vegimals jumps out of Shellington's arm and into the Captain. He barely and enough time to catch the little creature. "Woah there, little guy."

"Guess he likes you." Dashi giggles. "We should name them... they all seem to have vegetable tops. I think the one that you're holding, Captain is a turnip."

"The fish fins at the bottom are different. I believe it's a Tuna." Inkling mutters.

"How about Turnip? I know he's a turnip plant and tuna.. and well if you combine them you get Turnip." Shellington suggested. The creatures chirps happiky

"Turnip it is." Barnarcles said. "How about the others then?"

"Well this red one looks like a tomato. This pink one looks like a radish." Dashi said.

"Hmm.. a minnow and cod..." Inkling said. Three Vegimals jumped onto his chair. A little blue, little purple and green."A zucchini, beetroot, and another tomato. A little unripe this one." A tentacle pats it's head and it laughs. "Shark tail, halibut and pike."

"This little fella is a carrot. Seems like he got a bass for a tail." Tweak states. "Now..this guy." Another purple Vegimal, it looked like it had a grouper fin but the shape was weird. It has a turnip talk yet a big yam body.

"Grouber." Barnacle said. "He looks like he's all sort of veggies that are tubers. They're bigger that usual veggies."

"Alright then, this red guy can be Tommonow. You're Codish" Dashi responds.

"Sharchini, Halibeet and Pikato." Inkling continued.

"Barrot" Tweaks holds him up high.

"And Turnip." Shellington exclaimed.

The Vegimals chirped happily at the names. The sang the same song as the one during hatching.

"Octonaunts. Let's welcome our new members to the Ocotopod." Captain Barnacles  said with a smile. "Let's hope these little guys will grow up to be something special!"

"Hooray!"
