This will go into film studies and just generally talking about them so if you don't understand film techniques and how they are critiqued that's alright, I'll keep this easy to read

Why? Compliment Sandwich Review / This will be a mix of both movie terms and my terms

Sandwich Review: This way of critiquing films is the easiest and most fair way of doing so, you take a look at all the components of a film and go in this order: good, bad, good, bad and so on until you're done with things to say.

NOTE: I don't critique films professionally, I was just taught by studying media studies & English so excuse me if I get anything wrong.

Revenge Of The Fallen:

A lot more entertaining than TF1, yes TF1 was really fun and entertaining but ROTF has just a quicker and brisker pace that allows for more things to happen. Amazing action, I love the set design and where they fight.

Repetitive camera techniques, the camera spins on its axis way too many times and is legitimately disorientating (coming from a person with vertigo haha.) Again, I still don't buy Mikaela and Sam's relationship although she's useful in the plot and they aren't as annoying and are pretty cute.

The plot makes sense and is cohesive, with really good direction and story arc. 

The humour is either good or bad, with no in-between. As usual, there's always some kind of slapstick as that is Michael's style which is completely fine, although the appliance bots were a bit much they actually drove the narrative so I guess slapping a gun in an inappropriate place wasn't so bad. Still, didn't need to see that angle of Simmons, thank you.

The Transformers get a decent amount of screentime, they're onscreen enough so the title of the franchise actually makes sense. 

The robot designs again, Destructor is okay but giving him a scrotum was a bit much. The appliance bots can burn thanks. Although there were good designs to come out of it such as Ravage, I personally love what he did with him.

Megatron, everything about him is just so good in this film. His design is such a big step up from TF1, he looks so menacing and tough. I love his sound design and Hugo Weaving does an incredible job as always voicing him, this is my favourite Megatron because he gets shit done.

Soundwave, his design is okay but could be better. He's not in the movie for that long which is disappointing and he just kinda sits in space for half of it, really wanted more of him.

JETFIRE. Again, Jetfire is one of the best things to come out of this. I love his character, design, and voice actor, he's superior. He's in the movie for just enough time that he's not annoying and he has so much character for only being in it for half. 

Wheelie. Okay, rewatching it he's alright but he's still kind of a perv (even if that's the point) At least he has some kind of significance and he's not as annoying as the twins.

Optimus & The Fallen. Both plot lines are very good, I like how we start off with Optimus when he doesn't have The Matrix which was really interesting. The Fallen is great, although I think his design could've been a bit more he's very menacing and I love how it's obvious he's working with Megatron and not stringing him along like sOOmeone (I'll deal with him later :l) I like how we actually see a weak but still determined Optimus which is really cool, he's a tired baby. 

The parents, they're always wacky in these films but they do not act like parents at all. Although I will say their scenes are fun to watch even if they're really weird and make no sense. They're toleratable in this film at least.

Starscream & Megatron, again I love them & their dynamic, especially in this movie. I love their little quips to each other and how Megatron is actually reliant on Starscream and somewhat respects him, like wow you listened to him good job.

Transformers:

THE BEST SOUNDTRACK EVER. Yes, I'm a metalhead so this is kind of favouritism but honestly, the song choices are so good. 

The love story, I get it we need the loser boy to get with the popular girl and it was the 2010's but oml. I do like that it's handled alright though and Mikaela isn't that annoying either, I do like Bee being Sam's wingman.

The house scene has got to be one of my favourite scenes in the entire franchise, it's so well edited, quick and snappy which makes the jokes funnier and everything in this like 5-minute scene is so good. It's also REALLY cute, I love Ironhides annoyance at humans and Mojo. I love how Jazz struggles to hide in the garage and how Optimus is comically oversized. I love the exchange between Ratchet and Ironhide and how easily they annoy each other. Also, the introduction scene is almost perfect, everyone gets just enough screentime and development it's great. 

The parents, again. They're more obnoxious I'd say and it's kind of hard to see them being parents.

Barricade, he's one of my favourite parts of this movie. His exchange with Sam and his line delivery is really good. 

You could take Mikaela out of the movie and not much would change.

Lennox and Epps, honestly I love these two. Their stories are great and I love their exchanges, so funny. Especially when they're running across the sand shouting 

Megatron he's not in the movie enough, his design is okay and I love his alt-mode. He's very menacing and I love his dialogue. (Although, yeah he was stuck in ice it makes sense.)

A mourning scene for Jazz, despite it being only a couple seconds long death isn't really valued in the later films as much so I'm really glad we got to see that, especially since Jazz was important.
