Chapter 1 - Arcade Days

---Childhood Days (1996-1997)------

-Children's laughter-

School had just ended and you were walking back home with your brother and his best friend, Kazutora. The three of you always hung out after school.

Baji Keisuke: We have some time to kill! Shall we?
(he nodded towards the arcade)

A smile broke out over Kazutora's face.

Kazutora: Of course!
He turned and looked at you. "C'mon!"

You nodded and followed them through the sliding doors.

Baji Keisuke: OMG! Someone beat my high score! Goddamn it!

Kazutora: 10 points higher than you, huh?

Baji Keisuke: Nah! I will one-up them in no time!
(Grabbing a 100 yen coin from his pocket and putting it into the machine)

Kazutora: If you fail this round, I'm in on the next one!

You watched as the two of them talk and chat over the game. After a while, your eyes wander around the arcade. The claw machines caught your eyes. You wander over to the machine.

As you walked, one machine caught your eye. It was a small tiger doll. Tigers dolls were normally not very cute, but this one was very fluffy.

'Kawaii!' You thought to yourself. You put in some money and give it a few tries.

No luck.

Every time the claw picks up the tiger, it somehow ends up not dropping in the hole. 'Ummm..... (⑉･̆-･̆⑉)' you though. 'OK! One more try! As I have no more money left..'

You placed your last coin into the machine and placed your tiny hand on the joystick. You aimed for the head of the plushie, and as you were about to let go, you feel a hand over yours.

Kazutora: You need to aim for not the head, but the tag. Here!

His hand was over yours, as he gently repositioned the claw. You watched as the claw picks up the plushie by the tag, and drops it into the hole. Your eyes widen! Kazutora crouches down to pick up the tiger plushie and hands it to you, smiling.

Kazutora: Here~

<y/n>: A--Arigado. (Thank you) (๑＞ ＜)

While you hug the tiger plushie, something small drops to the ground. -Ding- It made a small sound. Upon hearing the sound, both of you looked at the ground. Sure enough, a very small golden bell rolled onto the floor. Kazutora bent down and picked it up. 

<y/n>: Where did this come from...

Kazutora: Ah! Its from the Tiger plushie.

-He points at your Tiger Plushie-

Kazutora: Here, a small red ribbon was supposed to tie the bell to this part! Seems the ribbon broke. Here let me try to tie it back on...

He tries to tie it back. However, after a few tries, the bell still kept falling off. 

Kazutora: Dang. Seems it won't work...Sorry about that. Um..Maybe we try to get a new ribbon...

<y/n>: Thank you Kazutora-kun! But, it's okay! I'm already very happy with the plushie you helped me get! 

Kazutora smiled and looked at the bell. He was about to give it to you, when...

<y/n>: If you like it, you can have it! 

Kazutora's eyes widened. "How did she know, he wanted it?" He thought to himself. 

Kazutora: <y/n>...........thank you! I will treasure it! :)

- Beep Beep Beep- An alarm goes off. 

You open your eyes and sat up on your bed, and looked at your clock. 

-Year: 2005-
-2 AM-

You look up at the ceiling. "Huh...a dream of the past, huh?" You thought to yourself. You look at the plushie sitting next to your bed. You reach out and grab hold of it. It was THE Tigger Plushie, Kazutora had got you back when you guys were still kids. 

It's sure been a while. You wonder how Kazutora is doing if he is out of juvenile yet. You looked out the window and stared at the sky, pondering about the dream you just had. 

After a while, you still couldn't get back to sleep. You got up and went to the kitchen to pour yourself a glass of water. 

-Click-

You hear the sound of someone opening the house door. You look up and see your brother walking into the living room. 

Baji Keisuke: Oh! You are still awake? 

<y/n>: Nii-san....Yea, couldn't sleep. 

You watched as your brother took off his jacket.

Baji Keisuke: Whats on your mind? What's keep you up? 

<y/n>: Um....just thinking about the past...it's nothing...

Baji Keisuke poured himself a drink and sat down on the kitchen table across from you. 

<y/n>: actually..Nii-san, do you know how Kazutora is doing? 

Baji Keisuke's eyes widen, and turn looked at <y/n>. 

Baji Keisuke: Kazutora? 

<y/n>: Yea... I was just wondering...isn't this around the month he gets out of juvenile? I wonder how he is doing...

Baji Keisuke stayed silent for a good second. He pondered how to answer his sister. In fact, he had just come back home for meeting with the very guy she was asking him about. 

But Kazutora wasn't exactly "safe" for his sister to meet. Not with how things are going between Valhalla and Touman. He didn't want to put his sister in danger. 

Baji Keisuke: Yea, its this month. I'll meet him later this month. I'll let you know. Maybe I'll even invite him over. Tell you more near the end of the month! 

<y/n>: Oh, that would be great! Thanks, Nii-san! 

You thanked your brother and went back to bed. Baji Keisuke watched you head back to your room. "I sure hope things will be ok," He thought to himself. "Valhalla....."
