It was a cold winter night with a beautiful silver moon. I was unable to fall asleep, so I got up and went outside to the balcony with my father, Kiritsugu, to see the massive space rock. Even though it was snowing, it wasn't cold enough to go back inside for a jacket. It was a bit chilly, but it was the ideal setting for relaxing and gazing at the moon. When I reflect back on it now,  my mother and father were always so busy with work that they were rarely at home. I regret it even more now that I can look back on it. If I had realized that the amount of time I had left to spend with them was going to be limited, I would have made the most of each and every spare minute they had.

Kiritsugu: Y/n; When I was your age, I wanted to be a superhero.

That guy, a superhero in my child's eyes, stated it as though he yearned for it.

Y/n: What do you mean by "wanted"? You're already are papa.

I got confused, but he only laughed apologetically and looked up at the sky.

Kiritsugu: If only that were the case, but being a hero comes with a set of rules that must be followed. Each one gets more difficult to follow, to the point that it becomes hard to call yourself one.  I wish I found that out earlier.

To be a hero, you have to follow certain rules?

I'm not sure why I didn't question it, but I suppose my reasoned is since my father was the one who made the statement, it couldn't possibly be wrong.

Y/n: I see, so it couldnt be help.

Kiritsugu: Yeah, it really couldnt be helped.

he answered, so of course my respond will be determined.

Y/n: Yeah, it can't be helped, so I'll take your place. It's impossible since you're an adult, but it should be all right for me. Let me take on your dream and-

Before I could continue, he burst out laughing and smiled at me.

Kiritsugu: There's no need; a dream like this will never come true, no matter who plays the part. Simply live your life -

Before he could continue speaking, the fabric of reality began to unravel, and although the silver moon remained unchanged, both my father and the home I was in began to disintegrate piece by piece. Suddenly, I found myself staring blankly out of a window while standing in a room that was otherwise dark. This location is familiar to me since it was the room Ironwood allowed me and my sister to stay in when we were found and taken to safety.

Olivia: Y/n?

When I heard my younger sister's voice, I turned around and saw her wrapped around her blanket while clinging to a tiny stuffed horse.

Y/n: what is it?

Olivia: Will we be okay?

Her eyes were still full of hope in spite of all that had happened at our last home, and it was a hope that I didn't want to crush. It can't be avoided; there is only one answer. With the silver moon beaming down on me, I tilt my head to the side, giving her the most confident grin I can muster.

Y/n: Just leave it to me, I'll become a hero for us, I'll make it come true.

After a few seconds of staring at me in astonishment, she closes her eyes, tears streaming down her cheeks, but she isn't sobbing; instead, she offers me the brightest smile anybody has ever given me.

Olivia: okay!

Suddenly, once again, the space around me starts to glitch... my younger sister disappearing along with the room, but there was no response coming from me...

I simply stood there waiting for it all to end, and then I found myself in a familiar scene. Above is a gloomy snowy sky. At my feet are an unlimited number of swords. Are these signs of war? The world is inorganic, and there are no living organisms.

???: all for the sake of a better world....

The ashen wind courses through the forest of swords. The swords stand like trees in a forest. It's not just ten or twenty. Not a hundred or two hundred.

No matter how many there are,  it is impossible for them to be counted

Kiritsugu: I wish I found that out earlier.

The tools are rusting without anybody to use them. A ruin of infinite swords.

It is like a graveyard.

???/Kiritsugu: all I wanted...was to save everyone in front of me....

When I opened my eyes, I was staring up at the night sky in a familiar location. I sat up and looked around, seeing my sister sleeping next to me and Ruby, Nora, Ren, and Jaune asleep across from us.

Y/n: another similar dream.

I've been getting these kinds of dreams for a while now, but each time something changes, making it more difficult to comprehend what they're about... but this one was the first one with my father in it,  I was left with t no question, but the feeling of my hearting aching from how much I missed my father.

Y/n: Oh no, it's late.

Putting my own feelings aside, I returned to the ground and fell back asleep.
