The day had been long and rough and you felt the need to wash it off yourself. So, you cranked the heat up on the shower water and stepped into the spray, groaning when the water pounded into your sore muscles. You had the apartment to yourself which happened often with your roommate's schedule, so you could've taken a bath, but opted not to. Baths were too quiet and you needed that sound of the droplets hitting the porcelain of the bathtub. Something to focus on and clear your mind. Still, your knees and back ached and you sat at the bottom of the tub for a while, letting the spray soak into your Y/H/C hair, flattening it out against the nape of your neck and down your shoulder blades as you tilted your head back.
Eventually, when the hot water started to run cool, you shut off the shower and stepped out of the tub. The tile floor chilling the pads of your feet when you noticed you'd forgotten to lay down a towel. But, all-in-all, it felt better, smelling of your calming body wash and citrus shampoo. You grabbed the good towel from the back of the door, the one that was big and soft, and dried your hair quickly, then wrapped it around yourself and walked out into the hall. You didn't bother bringing a change of clothes with you in the bathroom since you were alone in the apartment and knew you wouldn't run into your roommate or her boyfriend on the way to your room.
You yawned, passing by the open doorway to the kitchen; trailing a bit of water that ran down your legs to your feet with every step. You were thinking of what to make for supper, something quick from a box probably, when a movement in the shadows caught the corner of your eye. A figure shrouded in the darkness grabbing you from behind before you had a chance to turn around or even scream. Whoever it was, was strong, practically twice your size in muscle mass alone and hauled you outside without breaking a sweat.
"Don't say a word," whispered his lips next to your ear, his palm grasped firmly over your mouth as he held you back against his chest.
"It's okay." He hushed.
You squeaked a little when he dragged you back towards the sound of a rumbling engine, but squirming in his strong arms did absolutely nothing.
He tossed you into the passenger side, securing you to the seat before jogging around and joining you in the Impala a moment later. His green eyes judging your Y/E/C ones.
"Do you have any idea how long I've been searching for you?"
"Who are you? What do you want from me?" You asked, fixing your mauve towel to cover more of your legs.
"Don't act like you don't know who I am, Miss Auburn Rose. I've left you multiple voice messages and I've been in contact with your agent, Jody, about your case. You knew I was supposed to start my protection detail on Monday and did a hell of a job avoiding me. Now, since you clearly cannot be trusted to follow orders, I'm taking you to a safe house until matters can be solved." He rambled off gruffly as he pulled out onto the road, tires squealing.
Auburn Rose was your aforementioned roommate, she was an actress who had a serious cult following and enough money to afford lavish trips, but only if she skimped on other amenities such as living with a roommate. You got along well enough and people often told you that you looked like sisters. That is, when Auburn wasn't wearing her usual truck load of makeup, which she only wore to keep up appearances at work events; she was almost unrecognizable to fans without it, except the die-hard ones, who weren't always the ones you wanted to recognize you.
"Okay, first of all, I still have zero idea who the hell you are, but it doesn't matter because you got the wrong girl, creep. My name is Y/N Y/L/N, Auburn is my roommate and she's been on vacation with her boyfriend in Paris for the past five days." You explained dryly, crossing your arms over your chest to keep the girls at bay with the rough road and your lack of support.
