"What do you mean she's with him?" I asked Nyla.
"C'mon," she replied and began walking in the direction of his lunch table. "I'll show you."
"You coming?" I asked Georgia who was standing still.
"I think I'm gonna wait for you guys," she said sitting down on the bench where Justin had just sat . "I've seen enough."
I jogged up to Nyla and struggled to walk at her pace.
"Now," she said acknowledging my presence. "How do you wanna do this."
"What do you mean?" I asked confused.
"Either A, we confront them-" she started.
"Fuck no," I replied stopping dead in my tracks. "You know I don't do confrontation."
"Fine then B," she said stopping next to me. "Stank eye."
"Yeah I like that," I replied and we kept walking.
We walked right next to his table, knowing Kiara would see us. She waved excitedly to us and we walked over. She was sitting right across from Matt, stealing fries from his plate. So much for caesar salad.
"Hey guys," she said, putting another one of his fries in her mouth. "Matt here was just telling me about the team's last game."
"Yeah," he said proudly. "We beat them 25:16. Pretty big don't you think?"
"OK," Nyla said completely ignoring his bruised ego. I wouldn't even look at him.
"Brooke?" he asked expectantly. "Aren't you gonna say anything?"
I glared at him and he turned away embarrassed.
"Pretty big huh?" I sneered. I leaned into Nyla's ear and whispered, "said he had a 'pretty big' dick too but that was a lie."
Nyla chuckled and he turned back to us looking angry.
"What did you say?" he asked looking me dead in the eyes. "Say it out loud so we can all hear."
I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders. I walked up to him, standing close enough that I could smell the burger in his breath.
"Justin already told me how you got benched for punching another player," I mumbled so only he could hear. "Didn't know you had a passion for assault."
He lunged forward and I stepped back.
"What, you're gonna punch me too?" I asked snickering.
He stepped back and I walked over to Kiara. I leaned down to next to her ear.
"See you tomorrow," I whispered and walked past the table, Nyla walking close behind me.
"So I guess you chose A then?" Nyla said smiling once we were out of their view.
"No, I just..." I started even though I really didn't know what came over me. "He needed to hear it."
"Needed to hear what," she asked confused.
I smiled and shrugged. He did need to hear it. I was over him.
