Dear reader, this is written from the point of view of Sebastian Moy.

Oliver and I have been best friends our entire lives. It's how our mom raised us. She used to tell us to always follow our north star. My brother and I got into music a while back, and after our mom died, I got inspired. She inspired me. I want to inspire other young Asian Americans. I want to show them that you can make your dreams come true and that you do not have to live a stereotypical lifestyle. It took me a long time to figure out how to go about it.

One day, I was trying to make a TikTok and it hit me. A group of boys making videos, tiktoks, challenges, games, pranks, music, daily things. Influencers. The first person that I wanted in the group was my older brother, Oli. So I called him up because he wasn't at home at the time and explained my idea. "Whoa, Seb, slow down. Try again but in a way that I can understand you." I explained it once again until Oliver could see the whole picture. "Okay, but I have a few things in mind if we do this," he told me. "If we are going to dedicate this to Mom, then we got to call it North Star Boys." I loved it. It was perfect.

Next we needed a manager. Oliver and I were homeschooled and our mom found better results with hands-on experiences. So we traveled a lot for field trips. Oliver had met a guy in Colorado a few years back and he had been studying business management. Oli called him up to see if he was up to doing this for us. Manager Tyler Bray. He told us that since Oliver and I are coleaders/cofounders, we had to get a group together. So we first called Ty's younger brother, Kane Ratan, who's down in Texas for school. Kane said that he would have to think about it.

Ryan Nguyen from Minnesota. I met him about two years ago. I honestly do not know if he would fit the group but we're best friends and I want to do this with him. "Yo, Ryan. I know that you are in the middle of school but hear me out-" He cut me off before I could finish that sentence.

"Sebastian Alan Moy. I know for a fact, that you did not just call me up for another one of your dead-end ideas."

"Nah, nah, nah, bruh. Seriously, this one has a legit manager and everything. Ask Oli," I shoved the phone to my brother until Ryan said yes.

Oliver called up his buddy Lucas Hanzi from Nebraska. Our grandparents live up in Nebraska and Luke is their neighbor. So we're childhood friends. "Hey man, I was wondering if you got a sec?" He paused. "Why? Because I have a once-in-a-life-time opportunity proposition for you." I was unsure about this decision to include Luke but it was Oliver's choice.

Reginald Macalino from Michigan. Oli met him a few summers ago when Regie's family immigrated from the Philippines. "What exactly are we doing?"

"Asian-American content," Oli answered his question.

"Yeah, why not?"

I called up my boy Justin Phan down in California, only he did not answer. I was about to try him again for a third time when Darren Liang facetimed me. Oh no. This was not about to happen. Don't get me wrong, Oliver and I really do like Darren. We became friends the minute we met him in New York but he can be a bit...extra. "What's up baby? I mean, bro," I roll my eyes at his comment. Darren is so sus but he is 100% straight. Oliver kept giving me a look; one that I knew really well but tried to ignore. "No," I mouth to my brother while Darren continues to talk about who knows what. Oliver and I continue to fight while mouthing until I mouth, "Fine."

"Darren, I have a proposition for you." When I hung up with Darren, I received a profile update on Justin's accounts. SINGLE. He was just active though. He won his E-Sports Competition. I tried to reach out to him again but this time as a friend who was just checking on him. "Justin, you good?"

"No, I just broke up with my girlfriend," he says with no emotion. I don't even know to respond, so I respectfully ask why. "She cheated on me." Wow. I don't even know what to say. I've never had a girlfriend or kissed anyone. (Dear reader, I know all about Seb and Dylan but for now this how Sebastian is thinking.) I somehow convince him to take a leap of faith and join the group. About a week later, Oliver gets a text from Kane. Ok I'm in. Eight members. One group. Two weeks to move to LA.

Let's just say that Mrs. Bray Ratan was not exactly happy with Ty for convincing Kane to drop out of school. Kane had gotten in touch with Bae Dong. Ty was able to get us a camera director too. Bae Dong. The Bray Ratan family has known the Dongs for awhile and Bae wanted to be a film major but was just praying for something bigger when Kane and Ty called him. Oliver had us all book a room at the Summer Holiday Hotel so that we could all meet and get to know each other as well as all the rules and expectations before committing all the way into this. Manager Ty, Oliver, and I agreed to all of these beforehand but none of the information had been released to the others yet.

1. The house has to be kept clean.

2. Everyone has to help with chores.

3. No physical fighting or you are out of the group.

4. No bringing girls over to the house.

Those were the rules. The expectations included all social media platforms: Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Discord, Twitch, Snapchat, Facebook, and Twitter. Those that are gamers were to go live on Twitch for so many hours a week. We were to do two YouTube videos a week altogether and personal videos were of the boys' choice. Two Tiktoks a day which could then be used as posts for other media. All other media besides Discord were to have at least one post a day. Discord was at the members' choice whenever we started to get a fanbase. Oliver and I were already ahead of the game because we have been doing social media five years prior to this moment so we had some fanbase already. They were the MoyArmy but now it was up to them if they wanted to become Stars.

After everything was discussed, we introduced ourselves to everyone.

Oliver: I'm Oliver Moy. I am one of five brothers. I am from Florida and I like music.

Me: I'm Sebastian Moy. I am one of those five brothers and I can not wait to get started.

Justin: I'm Justin Phan. I am a gamer and I am from California.

Ryan: My name is Ryan. I have four sisters. I like to game and I am from Minnesota.

Darren: My name is Darren. I have an older sister, like to cook, and I am from New York.

Kane: I am Kane Ratan. I have seven brothers and sisters. I play a lot of sports and I am from Texas. This has actually been a dream of mine for years so thank you.

Regie: Regie Macalino. I like cooking and baking. I was born in the Philippines but have been living in Michigan for several years now. Still learning some English.

Bae: Bao Dong but everybody calls me Bae. I have a younger sister and I'm from Colorado.

As I looked around the table, I realized that this was about to change everything. This was happening and I was not about to turn back now. Our Korean Bar-B-Que arrived just as I was starting to believe that we had a good group here. No-one turned down Manager Ty's offer that night. We still had three days before move-in day so Ty decided to give us our room assignments now and get used to them.

Ryan and Bae. Justin and Luke. Darren and Regie. Oliver and Sebastian. Ty and Kane.
