Stars were shining really bright that night. It was midnight, but even though everybody was supposed to be in a deep sleep, someone was sitting in the grass at the top of a hill, staring right above them. Because for the first time in a few days the sky was clear again, sparkling with thousands of shades of silver and white. And that view was worth staying up late, sitting in the wet grass and feeling the chilly wind lightly blowing around.
Curious, oh how curious is the heart of a young person. A young person who's finally opened the door to their life, a young person who's got everything before them.
The whole wide world, just as promising as the beautiful star constellations up in the sky, so close - yet so far away.
They were sitting here, in the absolute silence, blown away by the breathtaking sight and filled with expectations, so impatient. Ready to fly, but still unexperienced. Longing to live and longing to love. Longing to try and fail. Longing to risk and longing to win.
They didn't know what comes next. They didn't know how many things are going to go down, how many things are going to crush and burn, how many times they're going to think that there's no turning right, that they have nowhere to go. They had no idea.
But that was the beautiful part. They didn't want to know and they didn't care. Their life has just begun. And that was enough for them to feel like nothing could break them down, like they owned the world. Because they did, at that priceless moment.
Sometimes the unknown is a blessing, because the burden of knowing and the burden of experience can weight too much.
That's why not having to carry that burden yet was enough for them to reach the stars that night.\\309 words
