Evvie Sharpe has been on her own for a long time.
At least, it feels that way.
Evvie's parents died when she was seven. A simple boating accident, the officials claimed. That was all it took for Evvie's whole world to come crashing down around her.
Well, not her whole world.
Evvie still had her brothers and thank God for that. Her older brother Vinny was her's and Teddy's lifeline. Teddy was little, only three, but Vinny was fourteen years old. He was a big kid and could deal with all of it (so he said).
The following weeks after their parents' deaths, the Sharpe siblings were moved from their home in Texas to their Aunt's house in Star City.
Aunt Kay was nice but it was just never the same.
Then, a year later, her older brother disappeared.
The case went cold, along with Evvie's heart.
The next twelve months was a blur of anger, loneliness, and guilt. It felt like the next time Evvie truly opened her eyes was when she was being shipped off to a metahuman lab. Oh yeah, Evvie has powers. That must have gotten lost in the blur.
A lot got lost in the blur.
How Evvie got on Black Canary's radar, she has no idea.
But she is so glad she did.
