Jason POV

"I will not leave you!" he hisses, face stubborn and... scared. I feel my resolve crumble.

"Ok Dami, but let's do my plan, ok?" I whisper

"Wha-" I interrupt so I can explain before they can hear us.

"We look like children, let's use that, act innocent and if they're hostile we can take them by surprise."

Damian takes a second to look incredulous, but moves to sit slightly in front of me, still protective but in a 'I'm just an untrained but brave child' way, instead of a 'I'm a trained assassin who can kill you with a spoon' way. I nod to him, before we turn back to the trees and watch as four very tall, elegant and... pretty people come out atop their horses. The one at the front, who has long golden hair and bright blue eyes, blinks down at us surprised and pulls his horse to a stop, the others following his lead. He jumps down and moves towards us, stopping when we both stiffen.

He says something in a soft, calming voice, but in a language neither of us understand. He takes another step forward and I pull Damian back with my uninjured arm and snarl at him while Damian makes a near silent annoyed noise, but goes with it. The man stops again his brows furrowed. One of the people still on a horse gasping has the man turning to them giving a clear view of his pointed ear. Huh.

"Their ears," the one who gasped whispers like they cannot believe what they are seeing. The other man turns back to us, his eyes widening as they land on our ears, his expression going a little awed.

"I'm sorry little ones." I hear Damian give a little huff at that, but he doesn't say anything. "Can you understand me now?"

I nod, keeping a protective arm in front of Damian.

"We mean you no harm, my name is Glorfindel. What are yours?"

"Jason," I reply before Damian can tell them my name's Todd.

"Damian, and if you truly mean no harm then you will give me medical supplies," he demands, making me give him a look, which he ignores. The people all stiffen though making us to the same and sending a twinge of pain from my injuries.

"You are injured?" Glorfindel asks him.

"No, To- Jason is."

Tim POV

"Huh... You think we're fairies now? But we don't have wings so I guess not." I roll my eyes at Dicks rambles.

"We have more important things to discuss, like where we are, where we'll sleep, where we can get food and water and where the others are," I say before he can continue.

"How will we find them?" he asks, I sigh.

A movement from the corner of my eye has us both rolling away just as someone or something lunges at where we just were. Shit, we're both weaponless, tiny and in an unknown location with an unknown number of enemies. Enemies that are actually giant fucking spiders, because of course they are. I position myself back to back with Dick, stance ready to fight.

The sound of something shooting through the air has us both dropping, an arrow flying over where our heads had been and into one of the spider creatures. I see a few tall figures almost completely hidden in the trees where the arrow came from and wonder how the hell we didn't notice them, before Dick is dragging me to the side out of the way of the fight. I let him, we are pretty defenceless and the enemy of your enemy is a friend and all that. We stay hidden as the sound of dying spiders continues behind us.

"Who is there? Come out," a voice calls once the fighting stops.

Dick and I share a look. I tilt my head to the side a little. He thinks for a second before nodding. We slowly move out from our hiding place, Dick one step ahead.

"Children?" the voice says, surprised, and there are confused whispers from the other people at the tree line, before the man starts speaking gibberish. I take this chance to examine the man. He has long light blond hair, is unnaturally... pretty? And has pointed ears like us. Dick and I share another look.

"Um... could you go back to how you were speaking before?" Dick asks, and the man freezes, looking surprised, then uncertain. He slowly moves forward to kneel in front of us, Dick shifting to stand further in front of me, but otherwise staying within reach. The man carefully reaches forward towards Dicks face, stopping halfway like he's been snapped out of a daze.

"May I?" he asks, gesturing to Dicks hair like that explains what he was trying to do.

Dick nods anyway, ready to jump away if attacked. But the man just gently tucks his hair behind his ear, his pointed ear. There are a couple gasps and the mans eyes go wide with disbelief, then snap to me. I quickly move my hair aside before he can try to do it himself. His hand goes to his mouth, covering it, his face a mix of shock and... hope?

"Two elflings," he whispers, like he's looking at the most precious things he's ever seen. He quickly pulls himself together. "Are you alone?" he asks, voice soft.

"We weren't," Dick says, obviously going with their assumption that we're kids. "We were with our brothers Jason and Damian and our-"

"Bruce," I interrupt, because who knows how old he is now? What if we say he's our father and he ends up being a toddler? Dick gives me a nod.

"And Bruce," he repeats.

"We will look for you brothers," the man says with a look behind him. Half the people- elves? Split off and leave. "What are your names little ones?" I hold back a frown at being called little.

"I'm Dick and this is Tim." The man nods with a gentle smile.

"I am Legolas, will you please come back with me? These woods are not safe."
