"Arghhhhh!" I cry as I attempt to get my useless hairbrush through my unruly black hair. "There is no point!!!! My hair will break this brush before it untangle any knot!!" I scream, as my mother enters the room. She laughs, " unless you want to look like you have a monkey's butt attached to ur head I suggest u keep going" she says calmly. I'm going on my first date, and now I understand what they mean when girls say it's so difficult to choose what to wear. I have a rather large range of clothes and I not been satisfied with any so far, they make me look bloated or gangly or my legs look stumpy... It really is hard work!!! "Okay whatever you feel comfortable in is what you need to wear! There you go easy!" Says mum and walks out with a slight huff. She never had a long patience span. "Okay" I whisper encouragingly to myself, and I tug on my corset undergarments, then pull a lilac coloured dress on over it, I pull the ribbons into neat order and slip into some dark leather boots onto my tiny feet. My mother walks in and is reading the paper aloud " the purples seem to be the height of fashion for 1879 so maybe we will stick with the trend..." Her voice trails off as she looks at me, and her eyes begin to brim with tears. I shuffle over and grasp her in hug. "Chloe you are beautiful" she whispers "oh my little darling is starting to be courted!!!!" She says excitedly " oh mum call it a date it is the new found word!" I say. I suddenly hear a knock at the door and I whip my head around to the sound of the door opening. There are heavy footsteps on the stairs and in Julian walks. His fair blonde hair shines in the early morning light, his muscular frame is emphasised in his tight shirt and his bright hazel eyes seem golden. " hello and welcome Mr Lightwheather!" My mother almost squeals and I sigh, he really is beautiful. " please call me Julian Ms Lovelace. Ready to go my gorgeous Chloe?" He says in his smooth voice " I am" I nearly whisper but clear my throat enough to make it sound normal. I sleep my hand through the crook of his arm and we walk down stairs and into the busy streets of London.
Thats where it all started going wrong...
