Merc stood up and got ready for the day. He put on his uniform for work and brushed out his longish black hair. Then took out his facial piercings and shoved them in his pocket. He looked at himself.
He knew he was depressed, but now dreams and thoughts of suicide? He had to keep himself together, for Ash.
He walked out of the bathroom and saw Ash sleeping on the couch. He smiled and grabbed snacks from the kitchen, setting them out for Ash, and placing the remote beside them. He wrote a note:
"Sorry I have to leave so soon, but work is work. Help yourself to the snacks I left out, and watch anything you want on TV. I will be back at 6:00, call if you need anything. ~Merc"
He folded the note and left for work.
