Hans in the song Love Is an Open Door, he says I found my place. He points to the kingdom and not to Anna. So it's possible that he wasn't even forced to do this by the trolls rather his own initiative. But here's a little thing that foils this. If he wanted Elsa dead then why would he save her in the ice castle? Possibly to manipulate her more. I mean, he left Anna to die in a room by herself. But in order for him to rule the kingdom, he needed both girls dead. This is why this movie is so fucking confusing to me. What are his motives, like actually? We get that he wants to rule the kingdom, and become king for himself but the details are fuzzy.
